What a Goof!

Logan makes the goofiest faces. This is his latest. He looks like he is mad, but he's not! I have no idea where this kid gets stuff from!

Other funny things he has done lately:

While driving I honked my horn at someone and immediately Logan said "Move Idiot". Oops I guess we really need to start watching what we say.

Logan goes up to people and says in a deep voice, "HO HO HO Merry Christmas Day! Here is candy!" and then opens your hand for you and gives you a pretend piece of candy.

Tells us everyday that it is his birthday. He just started doing this a week ago. Not really sure why.

My friend Bethany just had her first baby yesterday. While she was pregnant we would ask Logan where baby Sydney was and he would lift up Bethany's shirt and yell, "Sydney come out!"

He is at such a fun stage and it is just getting better the more he talks!

Zoo

Yesterday was free day at the zoo. During the winter months the Hogle Zoo does free zoo day on the last Wednesday of every month. We were a little nervous about the weather, but it ended up not being too cold and a lot of the exhibits were inside. I hadn't been to the zoo in probably 14 years or so, so I was really excited to go. We went with my mom, Layne, Emily and the Aulai kids. I was so glad they could come because Logan loves them so much! It was a pretty enjoyable day. Logan had some troubles with other kids that we didn't know. If they got in his personal space, he would push them. I am not sure where he learned this and why he is doing it. Hopefully it is just a little phase. My favorite of course was the giraffe and I think that was Logan's too because we could get right up next to them. There was one giraffe who was literally a foot away. I can't wait to go in the summer when Logan is a little older and all of the animals will be there.

Eating lunch. However, for Logan it is more like looking at the food but not eating it.

Logan and I finally getting a picture with the giraffes. Its amazing to me that parents see someone taking a picture and don't stop their kids from getting in it!

My new hobby!

For the past several months our Relief Society has been doing a crochet night every so often. I always want to go because they make the cutest hats, but I never have the courage to go by myself. It is beyond out of my comfort zone to go to any Relief Society thing by myself. When they announced it again this last Sunday I decided I was for sure going to go. My sister Hilary and sister in law Elana came with me. I am so happy I went! When I use to work a lady I worked with taught me how to crochet blankets but that's it, so to be able to learn different stitches is really fun for me. I love how they look! My sister and I also make flower clips for little girls hair and they flowers look so cute hooked to the hats.
My mom has a blog where she writes about 10 things that make her happy each week, but she also does giveaways. Right now if you go to her blog and become a follower you could win 6 Valentines day clippies, and within the next month I am going to be making a hat for her to giveaway. Everyone should go be a follower! Her blog address is www.michelles10things.blogspot.com. I am not sure how to put a link in my post so you can just click on it to go there, but it is on my sidebar.

Christmas Eve

I got pictures from my sister of Christmas Eve so I thought I would post a few for journaling because I think they are cute. We had a wonderful as usual Christmas Eve. It started out at Red Lobster with David's family. After that we went to his parents house for a little while and talked. Later we went to my grandparents and did the annual Talent Show/Nativity/Santa Clause/Gift Exchange festivities. Christmas Eve is definitely my favorite holiday. More so than Christmas Day, and this year Logan made it the best one I have ever had by singing Jingle Bells in the family talent show all by himself. He kept telling me he wouldn't do it, but then Layne got up and did it and Logan couldn't resist the microphone. It was a proud moment for me. I was also very proud when he was a shepherd in the Nativity. He looked so cute and, although wild, did great! I love our traditions!

What happened to my baby?

I cannot believe my little boy is already two. I honestly can't even express how fast these last two years have gone for us. After the Christmas fiasco we were very nervous for how Logan's birthday would go. It was wonderful! He loved opening his presents, and was so excited for each gift he got. I think his favorite birthday gifts were his Little People farm, his Handy Manny tool set that Aunt Ashley gave him, and his Cars go fishing game from Aunt Leslie. However, he loves all of his gifts from everyone. Thank you so much! Logan is such a wonderful little boy. He is all boy and loves to be rowdy and jump around, but he is also so sweet and loves to give hugs, kisses, and snuggle. We couldn't imagine life without this wonderful little boy in our lives!

2 year stats:
Weight: 22.6 lbs.- 1%
Height: 32 1/2 in.- 9%
Head: 19 cm.- 38%

He is still really little and not really gaining weight so the Dr. did got some blood work done on him and everything came back normal.

Opening presents on his birthday. My sister gave him that cute Birthday Boy shirt. It was kind of big, but maybe it will fit again next year!

Opening more presents and loving it!

Playing with his Little People farm. He loves Little People and got a farm from us and a school house from Grandma and Grandpa Quinney for his birthday. He also got an awesome castle from Grandma and Grandpa Johnson for Christmas.

Waiting to blow out his candle.

Christmas Day

We left our camera at David's parents house on Christmas Eve so I don't have any pictures yet of that night. I will have to post about that later. Christmas Day was a whole new experience to say the least. We were so excited to have a toddler for Christmas this year. It turned out our toddler did not enjoy Christmas. He liked opening his first few presents and then got bored. When we got to my parents house for breakfast he was so overwhelmed and just cried and wanted to watch backyardigans. Later at David's parents he still was not enjoying the festivities and only relaxed when he got his new Cars chair and guitar. We still enjoyed our Christmas, but for the first time ever I was happy when Christmas Day was over. I have never felt like Christmas was a lot of work until this year.

Some highlights of Christmas were:
*When Logan sang Jingle Bells all by himself for our family Christmas Eve talent show.
*Watching Logan open his first few gifts where he actually enjoyed it.
*David playing with his helicopter for HOURS!
*Logan yelling at the Wii and saying "Are you kidding me?"
*My dad being so great and watching Logan on Christmas night while we played Wii even though he was still grumpy!

As rough as it was we really did have a wonderful Christmas and are so grateful for all of the wonderful things we have been blessed with this year.

I love Logan's face in this picture. He really liked his Furreal.

Playing with his race car set. That was one of his favorite gifts that Santa brought.

One of the only times he relaxed during the day was when he was eating candy and watching Backyardigans at my parents house while we all enjoyed opening gifts.

Sitting in his new Cars chair and playing the guitar.

David LOVES this helicopter. My dad, grandpa, and Layne all got them too and love them. It is a really fun toy.

If I can't see you, you can't see me!

That is what Logan thinks anyway.

Turkey Sweater + Thumb holes = Ugliest Sweater

Last Friday our friends had an Ugly Sweater party. As soon as I found out about it I started thinking about what sweaters we could use. Unfortunately, no one close to us had any that were hideous enough. So I went to several DI's trying to find the perfect sweaters for David and I. I looked for a couple weeks and coulding find anything. So on the day of the party me, my mom, and sister decided to venture out again since we needed them that night. I found the most perfect sweater for David. It was in the ladies section but it was quite large so I decided he could have it. I found a pretty good one for me, but knew David's could potentially be the winner. It has tons of turkeys all over it. He was pretty excited when he saw it. So we get to the party and are just hanging out when all of a sudden David says hey in the pockets there is a place for just your thumbs! Who would even think to put that in a sweater they were making? Anyway, David won and very deservedly so. It was a lot of fun!

Me and the Winner!

Quin and Teresa wore Utah hoodies. I totally had that thought, but figured the friends putting on the party are Utah fans so I probably shouldn't. I am glad someone did though.

The hosts in their ugly sweaters. Thanks guys it was a lot of fun!

Santa Clause

On Saturday was our ward Christmas breakfast. I am on the committee so I had to be there, but David had work. I asked my sister if she would come with me and watch Logan while I served food and cleaned up. She was so wonderful and said yes. It turned out pretty good. We ate breakfast and then some people in the ward sang some Christmas carols. After that it was time for Santa Clause to come. Our normal Santa we use just got knee surgery and couldn't come, so we got a recommendation from someone. It is amazing to me that someone recommended this guy. He had the creepiest Santa costume I had ever seen. His beard was straight and square looking and the mustache was falling off. None of the kids seemed to notice though. As we were waiting in line Layne was so excited, but Logan kept saying he wanted to go bye bye cause he was a little nervous. Layne sat on Santa's lap first which made Logan more willing to do it. He didn't cry but he was sure nervous and wouldn't talk very loud to Santa. But he did it and it was good practice.

Hundreth Post

I didn't realize until I got on to blog tonight that this is my 100th post. Since I didn't know, and I am not really the creative type anyway, I will just do the post I was already going to do. Christmas Trees. On Tuesday night we were finally able to decorate our tree that has been up since last Wednesday. Logan loved it. He was so cute putting several ornaments on the same branch. He had a hard time with the ornaments with hooks so we gave him the ones with strings. I love seeing the branches that he did. He also put the angel on the tree. I must say I really love our tree. I always thought I would be the kind of person who likes a tree that has all different ornaments and doesn't really match. I always wanted a themed tree, but I love that our ornaments have to do with us.

On Wednesday we went to Festival of Trees for playdate. I always think its so interesting to see what kinds of trees people come up with. Layne liked the tree that had a shark on the bottom, Annie liked all the girly trees, Lincoln liked the trees with gingerbread men, and Logan liked the trees with snowmen. I think the kids really enjoyed it. I wish we would have been able to spend a little more time there but we got a late start. We liked looking at the trees and loved seeing some of the gingerbread houses. Our favorites were the UP house and the Cinderella Castle.

The awesome UP house. The balloons were Jelly Bellies. So cute!

The Cinderella Castle. It amazes me that someone would have the patience to make something like that.
