Butterfly Release

I know, I know I have been a terrible blogger. I cannot believe how busy our summer has been. Pretty much the only time we are ever home is to sleep. Its been crazy. And now my family has been bugging me about not blogging so what I am posting I am sure doesn't matter to most, but it will be good for journaling.
About a week and a half ago we finally let the butterflies go. Logan really didn't want to so we told him they had to fly away to find their families. He still asks about them everyday. My sister who bought them for him said they have a lot of different bugs you can "grow". We are thinking of maybe doing the praying mantis. We'll see. It still all creeps me out. But here are some pictures of us letting the butterflies go.
Logan holding the lid open for them to fly out. The first two had a hard time so David had to pull them out by hand.

Color of my Writing

So this is the first time I have really tried to change anything on my blog in a while and with changes blogger made I cannot figure out how to change the color of my writing anymore. Can anyone tell me how to do that now?

Butterflies

My sister Emily is a preschool teacher and each year does a butterfly activity. This year she got Logan his own butterfly kit to do at home. They came in the mail as teensy teensy caterpillars, about the size of ants. Within a week they were HUGE. I would say at least 15X bigger. Then they crawl to the top of their jar and cocoon. After they are all cocooned you take them out of the jar and stick them in the habitat. After another one came out yesterday and the rest came out today. Logan loved this project and seeing it each step of the way. Right now we are feeding them watermelon and when the weather gets a little warmer we will set them free. Thank you so much Emily. Logan loved it!

These are the caterpillars after a couple days. I should have taken a picture when we first got them.

Its hard to see, but these are the cocoons.

And here are the butterflies. The red stuff is not blood. We don't really know what it is, except that online it says its not blood its just what happens when they come out of their cocoons.

Seriously? This Kid can Fall Asleep Anywhere!

I don't know how he does it, but Logan can and does fall asleep in the weirdest places! It didn't even phase him that he had his car on top of him!

Planetarium

I know I have mentioned before how wonderful my family is, but they seriously are. My oldest sister was off track for two and a half weeks and she took Logan to do all sorts of fun things so I could have a break. They went to the aqaurium several times, played with Lincoln she took him shopping with her. On this day they went to the Clark Planetarium and Tucano's with Lincoln's mom and sisters. He had so much fun. He got to ride the "Train" for only his second time ever and LOVED it! He also got to "walk on Mars" and do all kinds of fun things at the planetarium. They saw a 3D movie and he kept grabbing at the air and saying, "I can't grab it!" I wish I had been there to see that.
After the planetarium they went to Tucano's for lunch. Logan spent 20 minutes playing with his tongs and then finally started eating and ended up knocking his bowl on the floor, breaking it. They servers came over and cleaned it up and said it was all right and who could get mad a face like that. 5 minutes later Lincoln comes back to the table with another bowl of fruit for Logan. Emily asked why he would get him another glass bowl when he had just broken it and Lincoln said, "Like the server said, who could say no to a face like that?" I couldn't agree more. His innocent face can get that kid whatever he wants.
Thank you so much Emily for being so willing to give me a break! Thanks to my whole family who always offer to take Logan. We really appreciate it!

Success

We had so much fun at our boutique on Saturday. Thank you so much to everyone who came it was a great success. We feel like our booth was the busiest and heard several other vendors talking about it. We had a great time. But since it was bad weather and they didn't have as many people come as they hoped, they scheduled us for their next boutique in August. We can't wait. We are hoping to find another venue before that, but for right now I am just enjoying not working all day everyday on making bows! Thanks again to everyone who came and supported us.

Bits and Pieces

My sister and I love to do new things. We have several hobbies that we love and always talk about selling our stuff. The problem is we are big talkers and not big doers. Well this time we are actually doing it. We are doing a boutique at Wheeler Farm on May 1st and we are so excited and nervous about it. We started a blog to show some things we will be selling. We will be selling hair clippies, headbands, crocheted hats, and onesies. If you want to see some stuff we will be selling go look at our blog at http://bitsandpieces10.blogspot.com . We will be adding new pictures all week. We are very nervous for this and hope it goes well. We have had so much fun getting ready for it.

Drive-In Movie

We decided to brave the cold this weekend and go to the drive-in. We saw How to Train Your Dragon and Percy Jackson. We all really like the first movie, but I think a lot of us fell asleep during the second.

Logan and Daddy in the nice warm car. I know Logan looks goofy in this picture, but I took about ten and this was the best of all of them. It was really dark so when the flash would go off both of my boys would make goofy faces.

It was really dark when I was taking pictures so I just kind of had to aim and shoot. This is what face Linc decided to make in the dark.

All the Aulai kids that came and Layne. They didn't stay outside for long. It was way cold. Leslie was the only one who managed to handle the cold weather.

Easter Post

Easter weekend in pictures:

Logan looking through his Easter basket on Saturday morning. He got a swimsuit, Bolt, new sandals, bubbles, and fun sand toys for our trip to California this summer!

Easter Egg Hunt up at Suncrest. I babysit up there and they had an Easter Egg Hunt that we went to. It was freezing, but the kids got a lot of eggs!

Waiting to go outside to start Grandma and Grandpa's egg hunt.

This one is blurry cause once the door opened he dashed outside to start looking for eggs.

When he was looking for eggs he would put his finger up to him mouth and go "Hmmm".

Daddy helping him get an egg out of the tree.

Showing us his basket full of eggs.

Logan got the most money out of everyone. He got $9.15. He is saving that money for our trip to Disneyland.

Holding his egg drop. Daddy put 4 rolls of toilet paper around an egg and then stuffed all the holes with toilet paper. It last three drops. After that we went to grandpa throwing them on the ground to see whose would break and Logan's did. He kept telling everyone it popped.

Family watching the egg drop. This is always a very exciting event. My dad throws the entries over the roof and they land on the ground. Whoevers egg lasts through the throwing over the fence and then throwing on the ground get to pick a prize out of Grandpa's closet.
