Swimming: Take Two!

Every Memorial Day we go swimming at my aunt and uncles house. As I posted before Logan was not too fond of the water last time we went swimming. I was expecting this time to be much of the same thinking it would take him four or five times until he started to like it. Nope. He LOVED it!! He had so much fun. David would throw him in the air and catch him and he would laugh. He would get out on the side and walk into the my arms while I was in the pool and just laugh. He tried to swim away from us, dip his head in the pool, play with the noodles. It was amazing how much he loved it. So maybe we have a fish on our hands after all. When I got him out he was not too happy with me, but his lips were blue and he was shaking. So I got him out and my sister got him dressed. For the next hour he tried to go jump in the pool. I said "I don't know what I am going to do for the whole summer" and my aunt suggested just letting him go back in. So I got him in his swimsuit again and he got back in for about another hour. Then again he was mad when I got him out. I love that he likes it so much!

I love this picture of them because they are making the exact same face!

Everytime David threw Logan in the air I would cringe. It was freaking me out, but Logan loved it!

He hated wearing these goggles but I just had to get a picture.

Racing Day/Carnival

Today was a very eventful day. First off we had racing day. For those of you who have children who watch Backyardigans might know what this is. For those of you who don't it is an episode where the backyard friends have race around the world. They run, snowboard, canoe, and something else that I can't remember right now. A couple of months ago my sister Leslie was at the dollar store and found some stick horses and we thought it would be fun to use those for our racing day. Today was the first time we have had perfect weather to do it. Layne and Annie had so much fun with it. Leslie made obtacle courses they would have to go through with their horses. Logan on the other hand couldn't have cared less. He just wanted to walk around and try to pick up the cones. It was still a lot of fun with him though.

Last week I bought Logan two hats and have been trying to get him to wear them and he won't. Today he actually kept it on for over ten minutes. I was very excited about this. He is also very into sunglasses right now so he liked to play with those as well. He had not taken his nap yet so by the end of racing day he was exhausted. He went home and took a great nap.

After Logan's nap we went to the school carnival at the school that my sister works at. I used to work for the company that does the carnivals so it is always fun for me to go and see people. They also gave us wristbands half price which was really nice. We went with my sister, Layne and Elana, and Lincoln and his sisters. They are so awesome with Logan that figured Logan would love to go on the big blowup slides with them since he loved them at Classic. I was wrong. I had to get on the slide and go down with him and he still didn't like it. Later he went over to the Batman bounce house and really wanted to go in. So I went and rounded up the kids to take him in. He was so anxious to get in. About a minute before we went in I took his shoes off and he was not very happy about it, so when I stuck him in the bounce house he cried hysterically. After about five seconds he climbed out. Oh well. Maybe next year he will enjoy it.

Lincoln and Layne got their hair colored, so I thought it would be so cute to get Logan's done and get a picture. I figured Logan would cry while they were doing but he didn't. He was fascinated by it. When we got out of line we found out Layne and Elana had left. I was so sad I didn't get a picture with all three of them, but at least I got one with Logan and Lincoln. By the end of the night Logan was so tired and fell asleep on the way home.

At the beginning of racing day the kids were playing in these cars. I am so happy my parents got these cars. Last week my dad stayed home from work for a few days to work on the yard and when we got to their house he stopped to play with Logan. And as i have mentioned before my dad and Logan absolutely love each other and he lets Logan do whatever he wants. Logan wanted to go across the street and play in the neighbors garage with their toy car. My dad let him! In the garage! I was so embarrassed. She came out of her house and said "Oh I thought maybe it was a cat." Well later than night Lincoln's mom came to bring stuff for the garage sale my mom was having and she just happened to bring two of those cars. Perfect timing! My sister Hilary was so nice to buy them for the boys!

Logan with his hat and glasses. I don't know if I will ever be able to get a picture with him wearing both things again.

Not a Fish Yet!

Today was our first swimming day of the season! It was so wonderful. My aunt and uncle have an amazing pool in their backyard and they are so kind to let us use it. We were so excited to take Logan. Last time he went swimming was 8 months ago and he really liked it as long as someone was holding onto him, although at times he was adventurous. Tonight was a little different. Right when he and David got in he started screaming. He did not like it at all. He clung to David so tightly. If David moved him even a little he would cry. After a little while he started playing with a football and loosened up a little bit. Then a little more and a little more. By the end it still was not his favorite thing but I think within two or three more times going he will love it. That is our hope anyway. We love to swim and want him to be a little water baby.

We cannot wait for all of the wonderful family parties, playdates, and just going over for fun we will have there this summer. Thank you aunt Kate and uncle Michael for always being so generous with your pool and home!

Just got his swimsuit on.

Logan and David just about to get in the pool and Logan is already not too sure about it.

In the pool with Daddy. By this point he had been in for about half an hour and was just starting to loosen up because he had a ball. He would also laugh when he would splash someone.

Snuggling up in his towel. He was so happy once he was warm!

Hotel for Dogs

I feel like all i have to blog about lately is playdates. I don't necessarily think yesterdays playdate is blogworthy but I have to blog about something. So here goes...For playdate yesterday we went and saw the movie "Hotel for Dogs". I was not too excited to see this movie but it was at the dollar movies so it wasn't like i would be out money. I actually ended up thinking it was a pretty good movie. It was a good story for kids. I am glad i didn't pay eight dollars to see it but I would definitely see it at the dollar movie again if someone wanted to. We had two new additions to playdate yesterday. My cousins Kate and Benjamin. Logan absolutely loves Kate and was so glad to have her there we are glad they could come.

I also added a couple other pictures on here cause they were so cute. Logan has this wiggles book that he loves. I am not sure why. We do not allow Wiggles watching in our house so its not like he knows who the people are. Its a little book about shapes and he reads it all the time. Usually when he is quiet I have to worry but lately he has just been laying down reading. He is becoming such a little boy rather than a baby. I love it!
Lately my camera and memory card have been doing stupid things so that is why this picture has a line through it. I don't know what the problem is.

The next picture is him folding his arms. He has been folding his arms to say prayers for a couple months now, but i just barely remembered to take a picture. It is so cute we say prayer time and he folds his arms right away. He doesn't fold them the traditional way and I know I will be so sad when

Day at the Park

It was a beautiful day today, so we decided to have playdate at the park. We had a picnic lunch and the kids had so much fun playing. The first time we went to the park this season was a couple weeks ago. Since Logan is old enough now i put him in the swing and he hated it until Lincoln would pretend like Logan was kicking him. Then Logan thought it was funny. Well I thought i guess that is the end of the swings. I decided to try them again today and he loved it. He thought it was fun the whole time. It is amazing what a couple weeks will do to a child.

Logan also loves going down the slide. He will climb up all by himself and go down the big slide. He is so brave. And he going down the traditional way is not good enough for him. He likes to slide down on his stomach. He laughs so hard. I love to see him playing and learning to do things for himself. He is getting so big and is not my little baby anymore. He is definitely turning into a toddler. I can't wait to see what the rest of the summer will bring and what he will dare to do!

I love this picure!

He sure does love the swings. After being on for a couple of minutes though he looks like he is going to throw up!

Annie and Layne are so cute together. If one of them doesn't come to playdate the other one gets so upset. All three of them play so well together. I am glad Layne and Annie are so good with Logan!

Classic Skating!

Yesterday we went to Classic skating. I cannot believe how much it has changed since the last time i was there. They now have a room with a bunch of blowups. Logan had so much fun! He loved going down the slides. Unfortunately he couldn't go up himself. I took him down a few times and other people took him up. I cannot believe how tiring it is to carry a baby up those things! After he while he was done with that and just wanted to go walk around. He walked around with various people for probably an hour. This kid is entertained by the smallest things. He liked chasing the colorful circles in the skating room! What a goof.

After we had been there a while and he still hadn't had a nap, he started to get very very grumpy. Luckily my mom had to go pick up a neighbor boy from school so she took Logan with her and he got at least a 40 minute nap. There rest of us stayed there for a little bit longer. Each time the kids came to the table to get a drink their faces were more and more red. They had so much fun!

We also had another playdate today. At dominoes they have new pasta bowls and they were giving them out today for free for lunch. We got those then went to Annie's house to play. We had a lot of fun. Annie has a huge dog and in the past Logan has been terrified of her. This time he was not so much terrified just more always aware of where the dog was. David thinks Logan wants a dog and I say not so much. I think he just needs to see Logan with this dog. Then he will realize we just don't need a pet!

I cannot believe this is only my third post for this month. Really not much has happened. Logan went to the zoo for the first time last week, but David had the day off so we stayed home together. I was a little sad to miss his first zoo visit, but I know there will be lots more. Really not much else has happened. This week has been pretty busy helping my mom get her house all cleaned up from the remodel and to get ready for our Scentsy party on Friday. I will probably spend all day there again tomorrow and all night baking. Anyone is more than welcome to come to our Scentsy party. It is Friday night and my parents house. It is an open house and it is 6:30 til about 8:30. Other than that not much else. Hopefully May will be a little more eventful and i will have the need to blog more!
Wow reading this post back I feel like the writing is all over the place. Sorry!

You cannot really tell in this picture, but their cheeks are SO red!

Logan on an inflatable.

This is Annie jumping and dancing around.

Ari and Mckenna with their scooters. Not one of the kids actually skated. They either used scooters or played on the inflatables.

St. George and VEGAS!

We had a wonderful weekend. About a month ago we were talking to David's brother and his wife about how we all need a vacation, so we decided to all go to St. George and Las Vegas for a weekend. It was very much needed! My wonderful parents watched Logan so that we didn't have to bring him with us. It was my first time away from him for more than four hours, and I thought I would cry and be so sad. I totally wasn't which really surprised me. Don't get me wrong I missed him, but I didn't cry and wasn't desperate to get back to him.

So we left Thursday night after David got home from work and drove straight to St. George. David's grandma has a little place down there that she let us stay at. It was really nice of her to let us stay there and we really appreciated it. On Friday morning the boys went golfing and Melanie taught me how to make my own backgrounds for my blog. I am so stupid about this kind of thing so I am sure she got frustrated while teaching me, but I am so excited to play around with what she downloaded for me. After all that we went to lunch and then outlet mall shopping. They had some awesome deals on kids clothes. I got two pairs of shorts and a shirt for Logan, and two shirts for my neice for only 30 bucks. It was a lot of fun. We then went home and played a new game called quiddler. I would definitely reccommend it. For the rest of the night we went to a little podunk place called fiesta fun. We did miniature golf, batting cages, and go carts. It ended up being so much fun!

On Saturday morning we woke up, got ready and left for Vegas. We stopped in Mesquite for their wonderful buffet breakfast. After that onto Vegas. We walked a lot! We went into quite a few hotels, a lot of shops, played the slots a little bit(I only put a dollar in the slot machine. I had a lot of self control.), and ate some great food. I can't really say there was a favorite part of Vegas and a least favorite part. It was all just a lot of fun hanging out, walking around, and people watching. One thing that was interesting..We ate at Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville and once our waitress found out we weren't getting alcoholic drinks we rarely saw her and if we asked her a question we would see her roll her eyes. Stupid Lady. Another thing, Last time we went to Vegas with Matt and Melanie we went into all the highend shops and had a contest to see who could find the most expensive thing. I won. I found a jacket that was $10,000 This year we decided to do the same thing. She found something worth $12,000 so I for sure thought she won. Well I found something for $20,000. A fur coat. Could you imagine spending that much on a coat?!? Now I am thinking I totally won. In the next store she found something worth $24,500!! A dress. It was hideous! We decided that we just needed to find the ugliest thing in the store and it was usually the most expensive. So crazy. Finally we drove back to St. George and didn't get back til 3:00 am. It was a long day.

Today we woke up and went swimming, got ready, packed, and went home. It was such a nice and relaxing trip. We were so excited to see Logan though. We got to my parents house and he was so happy to see us, but when we reached for him he just wanted to stay with my dad. As I have mentioned before him and my dad have a very special bond. I don't think Logan realized we had been gone for 3 days. It is sure good to see him and be back home, but I can't wait til our next vacation!

Miniature Golfing at Fiesta Fun. I came in dead last. I am a terrible golfer!!

Hitting balls at the batting cages. I hit all of the balls but one. I was very proud of myself.

David hitting balls. He didn't do too bad either!

We had a skiball contest and I won!! Only by ten points but still. I redeemed myself for my terrible lack of miniature golf skills.

At the Coca Cola Factory they have this thing you can do where if you pay $7.00 you get 16 different kinds of drinks from all over the world to try. It was very interesting. Some were a lot better than others. I highly reccommend doing this. I will tell you though, there was one really gross one and still thinking about it makes me gag.

Here we are at the Bellagio gardens. It is really pretty in there and there are a lot of different kinds of flowers.

David and Logan after we first got back. The two greatest boys I know!!

Recent happenings

This week has been a pretty busy one. On Wednesday we had playdate as usual and decided to make it easter themed. The kids dyed eggs and made marshmallow rabbits. It was a lot of fun for the older kids but Logan for sure did not get what he was supposed to be doing. I started to give Logan an egg and a white crayon to draw on it with and right when I gave him the egg he smashed it on the table. So I made two for him and he just colored on paper, which was fine enough for him. I am very excited for next year when he will start to understand all of this holiday fun. After we dyed eggs we ate some lunch and Logan was so tired he fell asleep while eating his pizza. It was so cute and I got video of it but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to put video on my blog. So you will just have to picture it in your heads. Just about twenty five minutes before Leslie and Annie had to leave the kids made bunnies out of paper and marshmallows. We didn't have time to color the paper first which would have made them cuter but they still turned out very cute.

On Thursday I watched my neice Leah all day. I am the kind of person who cannot stay home all day so I decided we would go to the aquarium. We picked up my sister in law, Elana and her son Layne to go with us. When we got there it was so crowded. As we were looking for a parking space we were trying to figure out why it was so crowded. Then it clicked...Spring Break. What a time for us to decide to go. It was packed!! We still looked at mostly everything but its a good thing we have annual passes so that we can go back when school is back in session. The kids did have fun though.

And our Easter Bunny came a little early. Growing up the Easter Bunny always came Friday night/Saturday morning. We would wake up Saturday morning and our baskets would be filled. He figured Saturday was a day for Easter fun and Sunday was a day for the real reason for Easter. And that is how we decided to do Easter as well. So since Logan is asleep the Easter Bunny came and Logan will find his basket in the morning. This year we went low key and got him a new swimsuit and rashguard and some new sandals. We are not big candy eaters at our house so the Easter Bunny only brought a little which is perfect. For our fun Easter Saturday we are going with my family bowling and it should be a lot of fun!!

Leslie, Layne, Logan, and Annie dying eggs. Well Logan is just coloring.

Our Marshmallow rabbits.

Leah and Logan at the aquarium.

All of the kids looking at the stingrays. Everytime I go i try to be brave and touch them, but i just can't bring myself to do it!! I am a major wuss!

Logan's cute giraffe Easter basket. I am trying to instill my love of giraffes on him. He seems to like elephants more though. I guess I need to work a little harder.

All of the fun stuff the Easter Bunny brought for Logan!

15 month stats

Yesterday we went to Logan's 15 month Dr. appointment. Here are his stats:

Height: 29 1/2 inches--9th percentile
Weight: 20 lbs. 2 oz.-- 3rd percentile
Head circumference: I don't know size but I do know-- 80th PERCENTILE!!!

Are you kidding me!! Alright so I can't believe he is barely more than twenty pounds. When we weighed him a month and a half ago he was more than he is now. Oh well at least he is not off the charts. Second of all his head in percentile is huge!! The dr. said there is no reason to be worried especially since he is hitting all of his milestones perfectly. Still...thats crazy. I said I don't feel like his head looks too big for his body and the dr. said no not at all so that is good. And his head circumference has always been much bigger than the other percentiles. He has got a really small body so... Anyway, he also had to get 4 shots!! 4! He did pretty good when he got them. He cried a little bit and then was ok. Well about 3 hours later he had a temperature of 103.0 and was very lethargic. I called the dr. and they said to watch him. Well his temp was high the rest of the day and all night. It didn't even get better with tylenol. Finally, this morning at 7:30 his fever broke. Needless to say it was a very long night for all three of us. All is well now though. And Logan now has 3 more teeth that have popped through. These three are all molars. That brings the grand total of teeth at this point:11!!

I also just need to put down a bunch of fun things Logan is doing. He says quite a few words. He can say mama, dada, grandma, grandpa, wow, no, stop, don't, soft, hot, more, hi, uh oh, and fish. He can also sign more, no, please, thank you, fish, Hilary, candy, and milk. He loves to try to dress himself. He tries to put on his shirts, jackets, shoes, and socks. He pretends to sweep the floor and uses the swiffer. Logan loves to kick balls, play catch, get into everything, and climb on everything. He is such an active little boy and I couldn't imagine life without him. He brings so much joy to David and I. We are so blessed to have such an amazing little guy in our lives!!

Easter Celebration

As i have said before i absolutely LOVE traditions!! And todays festivities were no exception. Every year for Easter we go to my grandparents house for dinner, an egg hunt, and an egg drop. It for sure is one of the funnest holidays. We celebrated early this year because my grandpa was in town for the weekend from Washington DC. I was definitely looking forward to it especially because Logan is old enough that he could go on the egg hunt this year. Well stupid Utah weather was going to make it not be able to happen. We would have done it at a later time but it would have been different since we considered this as Easter. Well despite the terrible snow we still did the Easter egg hunt. The older grandkids just hid the eggs downstairs in the basement and it was just as fun. Logan loved it. I think mostly he loved running around with the other kids. However, he did also really love shaking the eggs because there was money in them and he loved the sound they made. He ended up getting $4.80 from his eggs he found! Thats going right in his football bank. I am so glad that we were still able to do all of the fun things we always have while my grandpa was in town.

The egg drop was a little more difficult because of the snow, but most braved the snow to watch the festivities. I was not one of them. We didn't do an egg drop this year because we just could not think of anything to do. Everyone better watch out next year though cause we are starting to plan now!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for all the fun traditions!!

Logan found and egg and was putting it in his cute giraffe Easter basket!

Here he found and egg but he also found a ball that he wanted to play with more.

Lookind for more eggs!

Still looking!

Here we are dumping out the candy and money. He loved the candy!!
