Family Pictures 2013

We recently did family pictures.  I am so glad it is over with, and that we don't have to do it again for a year!  Logan was so good!  Brooklyn, not so much.  We got a lot of great pictures of Logan.  With Brooklyn, I feel like we are lucky we got anything.

He is such a handsome boy and so well behaved.

She is so full of spunk and I really couldn't imagine her any other way.

This has been called his Senior picture.

So handsome!

This face was a common occurrence throughout the whole day.

This picture is so Logan!

We also had a lot of this.

We decided to do the kids pictures one day and then family pictures another day to break up the process.  I am glad we did because Brooklyn was such a pill the first day, but surprise surprise she was all that thrilled on family picture day either.  Truly I love this girl, but she sure knows how to push my buttons.  We did manage to get a few good ones.

I love my family so much!  And thank goodness I have a great sister who takes our pictures and is so patient with my children!

First Day of Kindergarten

I cannot believe this kid started Kindergarten.  He had been so excited for this day for months!  He was so brave and didn't even look back when we dropped him off.  He didn't know anyone in his class, but has made a lot of new friends and is learning so many new things.  I love this kid so much and am so excited for him to continue to grow.  He is such a funny, helpful, kind, loving, energetic, smart boy and I know that I couldn't have asked for a better kid.

Summer Fun Pt. 3

We really had to pack a lot of fun into the last couple weeks of summer.  We had been wanting to do a Drive-in Movie all summer and finally got to do it the last week.  We went and saw Planes and Smurfs 2.  Logan is the only one of our family that stayed awake for both movies.

We also went to This is the Place.  I had never been before and it was so much fun!  I want to go back during Halloween and Christmas now.

The kids liked the petting zoo.

Even Brooklyn was brave enough to do some petting.

I wish I knew how (had the patience to learn) to put pictures from my phone on my blog.  Logan had his first professional shave.  The guy put shaving cream on and even used a dull blade.  It was awesome.  While Logan and Brooklyn waited for Layne to get his shave, they played checkers.

The kids liked taking the little train all around.

We spent a good while panning for gold.  The kids loved it.  Around the same area was a boat call the Brooklyn ship.  Brooklyn tried to tell people they couldn't go on her boat.  They also made some arrowhead necklaces.

After a very hot and busy day we got ice cream.  It was a lot of fun and we can't wait to go back.

Summer Fun Pt. 2

We had a lot of fun activities to pack into the last couple weeks of summer.  We have been wanting to go to the airplane museum for a long time so we headed out to Hill Air Force Base one day.  The boys had a lot of fun looking at all of the airplanes.  Brooklyn not so much.

She did have fun in this hands on room.

Pilot Logan.

After the airplane museum we went and got World's Best Corndogs in Kaysville.  They really were great corndogs.

Also that week we went to the Zoo.  They had some fun Lego exhibits that we wanted to see.

Logan and Layne pet this snake.  The rest of us were too freaked out.

Cute little birds.

Logan's favorite animal has always been penguins, so we had to take pictures of him by the Lego penguins.

We had so much fun at the zoo.  My favorite animal has always been the giraffe, however the polar bears were a lot of fun to watch this time.  I am already sad that summer is over.  I miss all of our fun activities we were able to do.

Summer Fun Pt. 1

We have had a crazy busy summer.  We had a lot of things we wanted to do and not a whole lot of time.  One thing we always love to do is the aquarium.  Its so nice because its close, and we have annual passes.  We are so excited for the new aquarium to open in draper.

The boys were a lot more brave than me and Brooklyn.  I don't ever dare touch anything.  We have had annual passes for 4 years and I still haven't ever touched the sting rays!

Shark Teeth!!

Row, Row, Row your Boat!

Brooklyn is a scaredy cat and wouldn't stand next to the penguin her size.  It freaked her out for some reason.

We also went downtown a couple times.  The kids loved taking the train.

On this day we went to the Gateway food court and each kid got to pick where they wanted to eat.

Right outside Energy Solutions Arena for Pioneer Day they had a fun reenactment thing.  They boys got to learn about how people did things a long time ago.  This guy is a blacksmith and was making horseshoes.

Learning about war guns.

Going on a fun wagon ride around downtown.

They also got to ride horses and grandma bought them both a fun bow and arrow to remember the day.  Brooklyn was there too, but she was too hot and tired to enjoy any of it.

We also went to the fountains that day to play.  The boys had lots of fun.  Brooklyn, not so much.

July 3rd and 4th

We had a great 4th of July holiday.  It started out on the 3rd.  We went to Seven Peaks in the morning.  Unfortunately, that is the only time we have been this summer and I didn't even take any pictures.  After Seven Peaks we went to my grandparents house for the annual 3rd of July sleepover.

The kids had so much riding these atv's all night.

David setting up the sound system for the outside movie.  He is seriously amazing.  There isn't much he can't do.  I am so lucky to be able to spend eternity with someone so amazing!

Brooklyn's turn on the atv.  She LOVES riding these.

Ready for Despicable Me.

Nice and Cozy.

We ended up not sleeping at my grandparents because we didn't really want to do the whole tent thing.  So we had a sleepover in the living room instead and I am glad we did cause it poured rain!

The next morning we started our day at the Pollyanna Fair(I think my family are the only ones who still call it that.  It's really the Sandy Fair).  The first thing we did was wait in line to get Logan's face painted.  He decided to get a cool spider web.

Before

After

The rest of the time Logan spent his time on the inflatables.

Brooklyn played a couple games and went in the bounce house once and then she was done.

So she spent her time eating a snow cone and making funny faces.

David decided to come join us to eat a turkey leg.

After the fair we went home and relaxed for a little bit.  Then we ended the night at Mike and Kate's house for swimming, bbq, and fireworks.  My highlight for the day was when Logan finally swam on his own.  He took lessons from my cousin Jenna for two years, but just acted so afraid to ever swim on his own without a life jacket.  Finally, we told him if he would just try we would take him to Chuck E. Cheese.  He did it.  And then he did it all night.  Now he loves swimming without his life jacket.  He will even jump off the diving board and go down the slide with nothing.  He is one brave kid!

Preschool Graduate

I cannot believe Logan has graduated from preschool.  It is such a bittersweet thing.  I am so sad for him to be growing up and leaving all of the good friends, but I am so excited for all of the adventures he is going to have as a kindergartener.  He had his preschool graduation a couple of weeks ago and it was so much fun.  They sang a few songs, recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and showed us pictures they drew of what they want to be when they grow up.  There was also a fun slideshow of the kids that their teachers sent home with us.

A fun stick song they did.

This is our favorite song they did.  No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed.  They had the cutest actions.

Blasting off to Kindergarten!!

This is a picture of him on his first day of school.  He looks so little.

And his last day of school.  He has grown up so much this year and I know he will do great things.  He is such a kind and generous kid and I know he will do so great going to kindergarten.  Thank you so much to his preschool teachers who have been so amazing!  Especially my sister Emily who was his main Preschool teacher.   She has done so much for Logan and our family and I appreciate it all so much!
