1 year stats

Yesterday we had Logan's one year Dr appointment. Logan has been sick for about a week now so we asked the Dr. about it and he decided to check his ears. Well it turns out that he has two really bad ear infections. Poor kid. I guess his cold got into his ears and thats how he got the infections. So the Dr. prescribed some amoxycillin and hopefully all with be well in seven days. So at Logan's last appointment three months ago he weighed 17 lbs. 3 oz. and now after three whole months he only weighed 18 lbs. So needless to say the Dr. said he is now off the curve and we have to go back in a month so see if he is gaining weight. We are hoping it is just because he has been sick and really has not been eating very well the past week. He also moves around a lot so maybe he is just burning calories like crazy. Here are his stats

18 lbs- 2 percentile(off the curve)
28 1/2 inches- 11 percentile
Head circumference-50 percentile

I asked the Dr if it was normal that his head was so much more of a percentile than the rest of him and don't worry it is. So hopefully in the next month we can get him gaining some weight. I was starting to only nurse him right when he woke up in the morning and most of the time before bed but have not decided that i should continue to do it a little more so our little guy can be not so little.

Happy Birthday Logan

I cannot believe my little baby turned one today!! It literally feels like i was just in the hospital a couple months ago having him. This has definitely been the fastest year of my life. He is such a wonderful baby. I can't believe that i got so lucky. He is such a happy little guy. Even though he has been sick all week he has been such a trooper. He has still been happy and such a sweet boy. He is a great sleeper most of the time. He takes great naps most of the time. He is a great eater once again most of the time. I am so lucky that i was blessed with such an amazing little boy. It has been such a wonderful past year and i can't wait for the years to come. Today for his birthday we went out to breakfast with my family at Golden Corral. Logan got to try a lot of firsts today. You are not supposed to give babies eggs til they are one so we gave him eggs, chocolate milk, bacon, yogurt, David even made him try corn beef hash. He was not too fond of most of that stuff. After that we went to Walmart and returned a few things from Christmas that he got duplicates of and got him a couple new toys. Then we got home and he opened his presents from David and I. He got a popcorn pusher, a puzzle, some jammies, and a shape sorter. He liked the popcorn pusher best. We decided not to make him a cake today because he had one last week at David's parents house and he will have one tomorrow at my parents house. But it was a great 1st birthday. I can't wait for the many more to come.

Playing in the Snow

Yesterday after the big snow storm David decided it would be fun to take Logan out to play in it. Lets just say Logan absolutely hated it. I guess he takes after me. He cried the whole time. I think once he is a little bit older he will like it better.

Christmas!!

We had a wonderful Christmas!! Logan started getting sick on Tuesday so we weren't sure if we were going to be able to do anything. He has had a really bad cold. Fever, cough, runny nose, goopy eye. It has been really terrible, luckily he is always worse in the morning and at night so for all of our activities he was mostly fine. A little lethargic but pretty good considering how sick he has been. Christmas Eve started out the festivities. Every year on Christmas Eve we go to Red Lobster with David's family. Not my favorite tradition since i hate seafood but since everyone else loves it i can deal with it. After Red Lobster we went to David's parents house for a little bit and just hung out with the family. After a while it was time to go to my grandparents house to start our many wonderful traditions. First starts dinner which this year we didn't eat since we had only eaten three hours before. After dinner started our annual talent show. It was a lot of fun. If Logan hadn't been so sick i am sure we could have gotten him to dance to away in a manger. My parents have a little people nativity and when you press the angel it plays that song and he sings and dances to it. But unfortunately he was sick. Next came Santa Clause. I really wanted to have Logan take a nap so that he would be nice and rested and happy for when Santa came but he was stubborn as usual and so he was not too sure about the Santa thing. It was long past his bedtime by the time Santa got there so bummer he was a little sad. Not too bad though. After Santa came and brought new jammies to everyone they did the cousin picture on the stairs. Logan cried the whole time cause he was so tired and sick but at least we got some pictures. Next came the nativity. All of the grandkids get dressed up and do the nativity while my grandparents read it. Logan and my cousin Paxton took turns being Jesus. Logan was asleep while he was Jesus so it was perfect. Finally came presents. We got great gifts. From my grandparents a gift card, for our cousin gift we got Monopoly with the electronic thing. We are so excited to play it. Logan got great gifts too. I think David will have just as much fun as Logan will. Sorry i know this entry is long but a lot happened. I should have just made it two entries. Anyway, after all that we went home and went to bed and waited for Santa to come. So now on Christmas morning we woke up and opened presents. Logan got a cars bean bag chair, puzzles, jammies, a cell phone, and some keys. But his favorite thing to play with were the gift cards David got for me. David did a wonderful job at presents this year. He got me a necklace and earrings and gift cards which i think is always wonderful cause you get just what you want. We then got ready and went to my parents house where we had breakfast, opened fabulous presents(my wonderful new kitchenaid mixer) and talked to my little brother who is on a mission. After that we went to David's parents and had lunch and opened more great gifts. I definitely paraphrased how our Christmas day went cause this was already so long but it really was such a great Christmas. It was so great to spend it with David and Logan and all of our family. Thanks everyone for a wonderful Christmas!!!!!!!

Random

So it feels like i have not posted in a really long time. Really not much has happened in that past week. We did have David's work party and a play date. But not enough happened to blog about so i am just going to post a few pictures from the last week.
This is Logan and David right before his work party. I love that little beanie of Logan's. Normally i am not one to buy cheesy things like that but i just couldn't resist this time.

This is Logan playing with a GI Joe type guy that he got from David's work party. They bought it for an older boy but his mom doesn't work with David anymore so they gave it to Logan. He loves it!! However it not only has one arm and one leg. Logan broke the other ones off. I probably should throw it out.

On Sunday we had family dinner at David's parents house and we celebrated Logan's birthday. I made him a chocolate cake and he was not too sure about using his hands to eat it. He doesn't like mushy things, so i was feeding it to him with a spoon which made me sad cause i wanted a messy picture. Finally he decided to use his hands and i got a wonderfully messy picture. I will get lots more on his real birthday.

For playdate this week we made nativity frames. They were really cute but i didn't take any pictures. After that we went grocery shopping and Logan had so much fun with his cousin Layne in the race car cart. Logan was laughing the whole time and he kept leaning over to drive Laynes side too. He was talking like crazy. At one point Layne said "Logan is bossing me around". I sure hope i don't have a bossy boy on my hands. He sure does love Layne though and Layne is so nice to Logan. Hopefully something eventful will happen soon. Next week is Christmas and Logan's birthday so i am sure i will have a lot to blog about!!

Rice Krispy Houses

On Wednesday for playdate we decided to do a Christmas activity. In November at Michaels i bought a Rice Krispy house set. So what it is instead of gingerbread (which is pretty gross anyway) you use the mold it came with and put rice krispy treats in it. They were really cute and the set came with everything. So that is what we decided to do for our Chritmas project and it was really fun. It is supposed to make two houses and then you use the rest of the Rice krispy treats to make windows and doors and stuff. Well i went to Michaels again that morning to buy another kit and they were out!! So we made three houses instead of doors and windows. Layne and Annie had a lot of fun decorating their houses and eating all the little candies it came with. I helped Logan with his and was told the rest of the day that it either looked like a robot or a skull. I guess i am not the best decorator. But since Logan is a boy i guess it is ok that it looked like a robot.
It was a fun activity. And it tasted much better than a gingerbread house would!!

Festival of trees and Santa Clause

Today we had our ward Christmas breakfast. I am on the committee so we had to go. But it ended up that David had to work so since i didn't want to go by myself my wonderful sister came and watched Logan while i helped out. After breakfast Santa Clause came. This was Logan's first experience with Santa and he did pretty good. He was being shy and a mama's boy all morning so i didn't expect him to love santa but all he did was arch his back to try to get away. He didn't cry or scream or anything. At one point he did notice his beard and stared at that for a while but he did really well. I am glad i didn't have a crying baby on my hands.

Yesterday for playdate we went to Festival of trees. It was a lot of fun. We were there for about three hours and still didn't even see everything. They had a lot of very interesting trees. They had one tree that was made all of golf clubs and was called "Tee'd" off at Christmas. There were a lot of in memory trees and game trees. And a lot of fairy and tinkerbell trees. They even had a set up of a group of four trees one one side and four on the other and the big middle tree was blown glass and they lights were blinking to Christmas carols. It was fun. We had a lot of fun and i love that we do playdates every week. It is nice that Logan knows that kids that we go with and that he is really starting to interact with them. He loves playing with kids and follows them around to play. It is really cute.

This is the only tree that he laughed at and started clapping at. It was covered in gingerbread men.

Black Friday

Most of this mess is the doing of 14 hours of shopping on Black Friday. It was a lot of bags. Just for me i brought home at least ten bags. We got so much stuff and had so much fun. Every year my sisters, aunts, and i go shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. We look forward to this day every year and start countdowns months before. We all get together with our ads after eating on Thanksgiving and start our game plans. What we do is we all pick where we are going first. We all split up to get more of a chance for everyone to get everything they want. So we all split up and then meet up for breakfast after all of the doorbusters are over and we swap what was bought for each person. Normally my sisters and i go to Shopko first because they used to be one of the only stores that opened at five. But this year Walmart had so many good deals that we just had to go there first. It was complete madness. We went to a walmart that was 24 hours so what they did is they had all of their sale items covered in black and everyone just stood around what they wanted. Once they opened everyone just swarmed. I wanted to get a camera for me and a different kind of camera for my sister. Let me tell you being by the cameras was ridiculous. They were a really good price. Luckily i got both. Leslie was trying to get a Kitchen Aid mixer for both of us but there were so few that she only got one. I was so bummed cause it was such a good price. Well my wonderful dad went online to amazon.com and found one for me for the same price and ordered it. I was so excited. Well after being up at 3:30 and 11 stores later(walmart 3 of those times) we got pretty much everything we wanted and what everyone else wanted and i even came home with a lot of extra money. It was so much fun but it was so exhausting. I have not been this tired in so long.

11 Months

Yesterday along with it being Thanksgiving Logan also turned 11 months. I cannot believe how fast the past year has gone. It feels like i was just at the hospital a couple months ago having Logan and now he is so big. He is starting to walk and talk and is just so much fun. Part of me just wishes i could freeze time and keep him this age forever even though i know he is just going to get to be more and more fun as time goes on. I can't wait to see what the next month brings and to see what else he starts to do and learn before his first birthday.

Well, it was also Thanksgiving. We had a very full day. We woke up and got ready and David went to his parents house to play risk with his brothers while i went to my parents house and my sister and i did each others hair while looking at Black Friday ads. Logan and i then went to David's parents house and hung out for a while before we ate. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner(well lunch) and then sat around and chatted for a while. After hanging out for a bit we went to my grandparents house for our second Thanksgiving dinner. It was about 3 1/2 hours after the dinner at Davids parents so our stomachs had time to get at least a little but hungry again. That dinner was great too. Then me and my sisters and aunts all looked at Black Friday ads again and made a game plan for today. We then played games and went home. It was quite a busy exhausting day but we love that we live so close to family that we get to do holidays with both sides.

FIRST STEPS and listening to music

So today was a very exciting day. Logan took his first steps! Logan and I were at my parents house and i was holding on to him so he could walk to my sister. So i let go and he took one step. We figured totally accidental. So then i sat on the floor and did it again and he took THREE steps. It was really exciting. He was terrified though. He started crying and anytime we tried to get him to walk for the next ten minutes he would just hurry and sit down. So when David got home from work he was really bummed he missed it. So he sat on the floor with Logan and he took another step. This time he did not cry. So we are on our way to a walker. He just has to get the guts first. Its funny that he is scared cause he is really a daring kid when it comes to climbing. He will climb on anything and he tries to dive off of things. I think for sure though in the next couple weeks he will be walking. He just needs some practice and a lot of clapping when he does it right.

Also today(well tonight) David was listening to music on the computer with headphones and he gave one to Logan to listen to and he LOVED it. He was holding it up to his hear and listening. At one point he wanted the headphone that David had in his ear so he tried to trade his binky for the one that David had. David let him keep his binky and switched him and Logan kept it by his ear and listened. It is amazing what babies pick up on. So in this picture he is putting the ear thing up to his ear to hear the music. He is so dang cute!!

Twilight

Last night at midnight i went and saw Twilight. We had so much fun. There was a big group of us i think there were fourteen of us. About a month ago Rebecca Aulai called in a panic that tickets went on sale that day and it was already sold out almost everywhere unless you wanted to sit on the front row. Luckily she found tickets for Jordan Landing, but way lame they didn't have reserved seating. So a few people went and waited in line so we would get good seats all next to each other. They said they would be letting peopple in theaters at 9:00 but luckily let them in around six thirty. Me, Hilary, and Leslie got there around nine forty five. Now normally i am totally not a dressing up for movies kind of person but Emily made us some shirts with sayings on them and they were really cute. Mine said everytime i hear thunder i wonder if vampires are playing baseball. Some others were I went to forks and all i got was this lousy imprint, and Forget princess i would rather be a vampire. They were fun. I did feel a little silly wearing it though. But it was fun and the movie was really good. I really liked it a lot. For all of those out there that did not think Robert Pattinson would be a good Edward i agreed but he really grew on me during the movie and now i just think he is so dreamy. There were definitely parts that i didn't like but overall i really liked it and can't wait to see it again.

New Background

Alright so i am a Christmas fanatic. I absolutely love it. When everyone else is complaining about Christmas music the day after Halloween i have already been listening to it for a couple weeks. I love when all the stores get up their Christmas decorations. So the day after Halloween i went to change my background to Christmas and they didn't have a single Christmas background. So i was talking to my aunt about it last night and she said she had looked and they had some now. So i just had to go look. I was so excited to pick one out. It was between this one and another one so I got David's opinion and he liked this one better. He doesn't normally care about things with the blog and i am sure he didn't really care about this either but i was glad to get his opinion. So here it is!! My wonderful Christmas background. And for those who say don't forget about Thanksgiving and go straight to Christmas, i don't feel like i do that. I love Thanksgiving too. It really is just the holiday season that i love!!

Teething

So as most of you know or at least can see in pictures Logan has had his two bottom teeth for about three months now. Well he now has one more on the top and another one coming in. I must say him getting his top teeth has been a lot more treaterous(spelling?) It has been awful. The first time he was a little fussy, no real fevers, no blowout diapers, he would let us rub his gums to help them feel better. This time he is crying like crazy, which is really unusual for him. He has had fevers like crazy, has ruined at least three onesies with blowouts, and won't even let us go near his mouth. Poor little guy. I feel so helpless. I know he is in pain and pretty much all i can do is give him baby tylenol which usually takes a half and hour to work. I sure feel bad for him. And i hate to say it but i sure feel bad for me too. I am really grateful that i don't have a cryer all the time. Hopefully once this fourth tooth comes in he will be a lot happier. At least until the next set comes in. (I know i already posted this picture but its a good one of his teeth!)

Family Pictures

Finally!! We got our family pictures taken almost a month ago but have had some problems getting them to work on the computer. So finally we got it all worked out and i am so happy with them. We went up Little Cottonwood canyon and got them done. My wonderful sister Hilary took them and did a wonderful job. This was her first time doing pictures like this and she did awesome. We definitely learned that we need to bring a little kid to make Logan happy. It was pretty chilly and he had just woken up from his nap. So now we know to bring Lincoln to make him smile. But all in all i really like our pictures. It was really hard to choose which ones of Logan were best.

Update

So finally another post. David was in California all last week for training for work and he had our computer with him. So this will be about the whole last week. Well first like i mentioned David was in California from Sunday until Friday. It was really hard and sad having him gone. Logan and i missed him so much. Last time he went out of town we stayed at my moms house and Logan slept horribly cause he had to sleep in a pack n play and that started sleeping problems that lasted for two months. So this time my wonderful sisters slept at my house with me so Logan could sleep in his own bed. That definitely made David being gone easier and we had lots of fun with Hilary and Leslie. We really didn't do many activities this week until Halloween day. On Halloween we went to Sizzler with my mom, Hilary, and Leslie. Then we went to my dads work with Logan in his costume cause they were doing trick or treating which Logan didn't do but my dad sure loved showing Logan off. Then we went to trunk or treat at my parents ward since David was still gone. It was a pretty fun Halloween but sad David missed Logan's first. So now its saturday and David is home. In the morning we just relaxed then went to my parents house do David could work on the addition and Hilary and Logan and I went shopping. Then the BYU game. I would just love to watch another shut out and not have it come down to the last minute on if we are going to win or not. As they say a win is a win but i would like it to be a WIN not just a win. Then we went to David's parents house to see his grandma who was in town. And today ended our month long Halloween festivities. We went to my grandparents house for our annual Halloween party. We dress up and have soups for dinner( which it was perfect weather for) and do a spook alley in the basement. And i must say it was a wonderful spook alley this year. Very impressive work. This is a picture from the party and of Logan in his cute little costume that he got to wear one more time.

Spooky Skeletons

Today we did playdate with my sister Leslie and the little girl she nannies Annie. Also my nephew Layne and sister-in-law Elana came. We made these skeletons that glow in the dark and you can make dance around. My mom and dad were at Lowes a couple weeks ago (since they are adding onto their house they go there a lot) and they had these crafts. So my they got some for us to do on a playdate. They were really fun and the kids loved them. It was really fun that they were glow in the dark. So i guess Lowes does a craft every 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month. They also each got little aprons that were so cute on them!
Here we are making the skeletons.

Here they are out in the sun getting them ready do glow in the dark.

And here they are making them dance.

Create a baby

So i saw this on my friends blog yesterday and tried doing it but it kept saying error. So then i saw it again on another friends blog and decided to try again. You just put in a picture of a mom and a dad and then it tells you this is what your baby would look like. This is ours. What do you think? Could that be Logan's sibling?

Naptime

So when David got home from work today he was watching Logan so that i could take a nap cause i did not get much sleep last night. Well while i was asleep David and Logan were playing and Logan started getting fussy so David put him in his walker and gave him a cracker. All of a sudden he looks at Logan and he is asleep. Cracker still in hand and everything. This kid will fight sleep like no other but when he is finally ready to sleep it is all of a sudden. I am really glad David thought to take pictures since i was asleep. I never would have wanted to miss this!!

Halloween Carnival

On Wednesday Logan and I went to a Halloween carnival at my sister school. She is a preschool teacher at an elementary school and her kids were going off track so they celebrated Halloween early. So we went and met my sister Leslie there and the girl she nannies, Annie(who is in Emily's preschool class), and my nephew Layne. Logan and i didn't have too much fun since he is too young to do anything. But it was fun to see Annie and Layne having fun doing all of the activities and to see them and Logan in their costumes.

Here is Annie, Layne, and Logan in their costumes.

Here is Emily and Logan in their costumes.

Play date

Today Logan and I went on a playdate with our friends. Teresa and her baby Gavin. And Rachel and her baby Abby. It was so much fun. We went to Zupas and had lunch and talked. I had never been to Zupas before and was happy that is where Rachel picked. David and I have a list of places we want to go but really i feel like it is a list of places i want to go. Anytime i mention one of them David says mm..nah that doesn't sound good. So i was glad we went there. It was really good. Logan had fun with the other babies. He would just lean over the high chair and stare at Gavin. Then Abby woke up and both boys were being very smiley with her and flirty. These are just some pictures of the kids at lunch. I took one with Rachel and Teresa too but was asked not to post it. And since i want to continue these playdates i won't!!
