1 year stats

Yesterday we had Logan's one year Dr appointment. Logan has been sick for about a week now so we asked the Dr. about it and he decided to check his ears. Well it turns out that he has two really bad ear infections. Poor kid. I guess his cold got into his ears and thats how he got the infections. So the Dr. prescribed some amoxycillin and hopefully all with be well in seven days. So at Logan's last appointment three months ago he weighed 17 lbs. 3 oz. and now after three whole months he only weighed 18 lbs. So needless to say the Dr. said he is now off the curve and we have to go back in a month so see if he is gaining weight. We are hoping it is just because he has been sick and really has not been eating very well the past week. He also moves around a lot so maybe he is just burning calories like crazy. Here are his stats

18 lbs- 2 percentile(off the curve)
28 1/2 inches- 11 percentile
Head circumference-50 percentile

I asked the Dr if it was normal that his head was so much more of a percentile than the rest of him and don't worry it is. So hopefully in the next month we can get him gaining some weight. I was starting to only nurse him right when he woke up in the morning and most of the time before bed but have not decided that i should continue to do it a little more so our little guy can be not so little.

Happy Birthday Logan

I cannot believe my little baby turned one today!! It literally feels like i was just in the hospital a couple months ago having him. This has definitely been the fastest year of my life. He is such a wonderful baby. I can't believe that i got so lucky. He is such a happy little guy. Even though he has been sick all week he has been such a trooper. He has still been happy and such a sweet boy. He is a great sleeper most of the time. He takes great naps most of the time. He is a great eater once again most of the time. I am so lucky that i was blessed with such an amazing little boy. It has been such a wonderful past year and i can't wait for the years to come. Today for his birthday we went out to breakfast with my family at Golden Corral. Logan got to try a lot of firsts today. You are not supposed to give babies eggs til they are one so we gave him eggs, chocolate milk, bacon, yogurt, David even made him try corn beef hash. He was not too fond of most of that stuff. After that we went to Walmart and returned a few things from Christmas that he got duplicates of and got him a couple new toys. Then we got home and he opened his presents from David and I. He got a popcorn pusher, a puzzle, some jammies, and a shape sorter. He liked the popcorn pusher best. We decided not to make him a cake today because he had one last week at David's parents house and he will have one tomorrow at my parents house. But it was a great 1st birthday. I can't wait for the many more to come.

Playing in the Snow

Yesterday after the big snow storm David decided it would be fun to take Logan out to play in it. Lets just say Logan absolutely hated it. I guess he takes after me. He cried the whole time. I think once he is a little bit older he will like it better.

Christmas!!

We had a wonderful Christmas!! Logan started getting sick on Tuesday so we weren't sure if we were going to be able to do anything. He has had a really bad cold. Fever, cough, runny nose, goopy eye. It has been really terrible, luckily he is always worse in the morning and at night so for all of our activities he was mostly fine. A little lethargic but pretty good considering how sick he has been. Christmas Eve started out the festivities. Every year on Christmas Eve we go to Red Lobster with David's family. Not my favorite tradition since i hate seafood but since everyone else loves it i can deal with it. After Red Lobster we went to David's parents house for a little bit and just hung out with the family. After a while it was time to go to my grandparents house to start our many wonderful traditions. First starts dinner which this year we didn't eat since we had only eaten three hours before. After dinner started our annual talent show. It was a lot of fun. If Logan hadn't been so sick i am sure we could have gotten him to dance to away in a manger. My parents have a little people nativity and when you press the angel it plays that song and he sings and dances to it. But unfortunately he was sick. Next came Santa Clause. I really wanted to have Logan take a nap so that he would be nice and rested and happy for when Santa came but he was stubborn as usual and so he was not too sure about the Santa thing. It was long past his bedtime by the time Santa got there so bummer he was a little sad. Not too bad though. After Santa came and brought new jammies to everyone they did the cousin picture on the stairs. Logan cried the whole time cause he was so tired and sick but at least we got some pictures. Next came the nativity. All of the grandkids get dressed up and do the nativity while my grandparents read it. Logan and my cousin Paxton took turns being Jesus. Logan was asleep while he was Jesus so it was perfect. Finally came presents. We got great gifts. From my grandparents a gift card, for our cousin gift we got Monopoly with the electronic thing. We are so excited to play it. Logan got great gifts too. I think David will have just as much fun as Logan will. Sorry i know this entry is long but a lot happened. I should have just made it two entries. Anyway, after all that we went home and went to bed and waited for Santa to come. So now on Christmas morning we woke up and opened presents. Logan got a cars bean bag chair, puzzles, jammies, a cell phone, and some keys. But his favorite thing to play with were the gift cards David got for me. David did a wonderful job at presents this year. He got me a necklace and earrings and gift cards which i think is always wonderful cause you get just what you want. We then got ready and went to my parents house where we had breakfast, opened fabulous presents(my wonderful new kitchenaid mixer) and talked to my little brother who is on a mission. After that we went to David's parents and had lunch and opened more great gifts. I definitely paraphrased how our Christmas day went cause this was already so long but it really was such a great Christmas. It was so great to spend it with David and Logan and all of our family. Thanks everyone for a wonderful Christmas!!!!!!!

Random

So it feels like i have not posted in a really long time. Really not much has happened in that past week. We did have David's work party and a play date. But not enough happened to blog about so i am just going to post a few pictures from the last week.
This is Logan and David right before his work party. I love that little beanie of Logan's. Normally i am not one to buy cheesy things like that but i just couldn't resist this time.

This is Logan playing with a GI Joe type guy that he got from David's work party. They bought it for an older boy but his mom doesn't work with David anymore so they gave it to Logan. He loves it!! However it not only has one arm and one leg. Logan broke the other ones off. I probably should throw it out.

On Sunday we had family dinner at David's parents house and we celebrated Logan's birthday. I made him a chocolate cake and he was not too sure about using his hands to eat it. He doesn't like mushy things, so i was feeding it to him with a spoon which made me sad cause i wanted a messy picture. Finally he decided to use his hands and i got a wonderfully messy picture. I will get lots more on his real birthday.

For playdate this week we made nativity frames. They were really cute but i didn't take any pictures. After that we went grocery shopping and Logan had so much fun with his cousin Layne in the race car cart. Logan was laughing the whole time and he kept leaning over to drive Laynes side too. He was talking like crazy. At one point Layne said "Logan is bossing me around". I sure hope i don't have a bossy boy on my hands. He sure does love Layne though and Layne is so nice to Logan. Hopefully something eventful will happen soon. Next week is Christmas and Logan's birthday so i am sure i will have a lot to blog about!!

Rice Krispy Houses

On Wednesday for playdate we decided to do a Christmas activity. In November at Michaels i bought a Rice Krispy house set. So what it is instead of gingerbread (which is pretty gross anyway) you use the mold it came with and put rice krispy treats in it. They were really cute and the set came with everything. So that is what we decided to do for our Chritmas project and it was really fun. It is supposed to make two houses and then you use the rest of the Rice krispy treats to make windows and doors and stuff. Well i went to Michaels again that morning to buy another kit and they were out!! So we made three houses instead of doors and windows. Layne and Annie had a lot of fun decorating their houses and eating all the little candies it came with. I helped Logan with his and was told the rest of the day that it either looked like a robot or a skull. I guess i am not the best decorator. But since Logan is a boy i guess it is ok that it looked like a robot.
It was a fun activity. And it tasted much better than a gingerbread house would!!

Festival of trees and Santa Clause

Today we had our ward Christmas breakfast. I am on the committee so we had to go. But it ended up that David had to work so since i didn't want to go by myself my wonderful sister came and watched Logan while i helped out. After breakfast Santa Clause came. This was Logan's first experience with Santa and he did pretty good. He was being shy and a mama's boy all morning so i didn't expect him to love santa but all he did was arch his back to try to get away. He didn't cry or scream or anything. At one point he did notice his beard and stared at that for a while but he did really well. I am glad i didn't have a crying baby on my hands.

Yesterday for playdate we went to Festival of trees. It was a lot of fun. We were there for about three hours and still didn't even see everything. They had a lot of very interesting trees. They had one tree that was made all of golf clubs and was called "Tee'd" off at Christmas. There were a lot of in memory trees and game trees. And a lot of fairy and tinkerbell trees. They even had a set up of a group of four trees one one side and four on the other and the big middle tree was blown glass and they lights were blinking to Christmas carols. It was fun. We had a lot of fun and i love that we do playdates every week. It is nice that Logan knows that kids that we go with and that he is really starting to interact with them. He loves playing with kids and follows them around to play. It is really cute.

This is the only tree that he laughed at and started clapping at. It was covered in gingerbread men.
