Saturday Afternoon

This is how we spent our Saturday afternoon. Watching Hercules in a fort in the kids room.

We all watched the movie, ate popcorn, and took naps.

My mom made Logan an awesome fort kit for Christmas. We decided to use it on Saturday and it was so much fun. We will definitely be making more forts and using more of the stuff in the kit!

ONE

I cannot believe my baby girl is 1!! This past year has gone by amazingly fast. She is such a joy to have in our family.

The changes in the first year are absolutely amazing. Some things about Brooklyn at 1:
-She says mama, dada, grandma, grandpa, cracker, sticks her tongue out to say Hil, Leslie, Emily, and Ashley. Pretty much any name that has an L in it.
-She signs more, all done, please, thank you, fish, and milk
-She sleeps pretty good most of the time.
-Has been walking pretty well for a couple weeks now. She took her first steps before Thanksgiving and I can't really pin point a day when she really really started walking.
-She has 6 teeth. 3 on top and 3 on bottom.
-She loves to look at books.
-She hates baby food and will pretty much only eat the food we are eating.
-She absolutely loves to be in water!
-For some reason she loves to carry around clothes.
-She puts her hand up to her ear and pretends like she is on the phone.
-Whenever she sees any animal she says "woo woo woo", like she is barking.
-She nods and shakes her head correctly when she is asked a yes or no question.

1 year stats
Weight: 17 lbs-10%
Height: 27 1/4 in.-3%
Head Circumference-10%

Our little Brookie Bean has so much personality and we couldn't imagine her any other way!

Christmas...Finally

I know Christmas was two weeks ago, but since this is the only way I journal I have to document it. We had a great Christmas. On Christmas Eve we started out the day by decorating Christmas cookies for Santa. Logan had been asking to do this since we put our tree up at the beginning of December so he was so excited to finally be able to do it.

Later, we went to lunch/dinner at Red Lobster with the Quinney family. This is one of David's favorite traditions.
To end the night we went to my grandparents house for probably my favorite traditions of the year.
We took our annual family picture on the stairs.

Logan decided to tell jokes for the talent show. He is very into making up his own jokes and that is just what he did.
Santa came. Logan told him he wanted a red bike.
Brooklyn was not too sure about Santa.

After Santa we did the nativity. Logan really wanted to be a shepherd this year. And he made a darn cute one.

I have one picture of Christmas morning. In my defense we do have video of it. We had a great Christmas morning. Logan got his red bike, legos, clothes, books, gift cards, Skechers, and nerf guns. Brooklyn got a baby and baby stroller, clothes, books, and more dolls. David got a new tablet and some BYU gear. I got new clothes and gift cards. It was a great Christmas morning. After opening toys we went to church. It was so great to be able to go to church on Christmas to bring back the true meaning of why we celebrate.
This is Brooklyn with her baby and stroller.

After church we went over to my parents house. And of course I have no pictures of that either. My parent were so generous and for Christmas gave us money to be able to get our awesome kitchen table.
After my parents we went to David's brothers house. We had lunch then opened gifts. Here is Logan with his stocking from David's parents. David's mom made blankets for everyone this year. She did an amazing job. We can't wait to use our new blankets at the BYU games!

And Brooklyn enjoyed some goldfish she got in her stocking.
To end the night we went to my parents and played games. It was a very chaotic, but very enjoyable Christmas. I am so grateful to my Savior and for the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you so much to everyone who made it so special.

Elfie

This year we started a new tradition: Elf on the shelf. This was such a fun activity and I can't wait for it to continue year after year. Santa sent us an elf and the first thing we needed to do was name him. After some pretty silly suggestions from Logan we finally decided to name him Elfie. Elfie would watch Logan and Brooklyn every day and then return to the North Pole each night to report to Santa. When Elfie would get hom each night he would be doing some pretty silly things.
I forgot to take pictures of a few things like Elfie playing Xbox and trying to climb into Brooklyn's crib.

Here is Elfie hanging on the fridge, hanging on an advent calendar, toilet papering our tree, and pretending to be an ornament.

Here Elfie is reading a pirate book, hanging in a stocking, eating some chocolate almonds, and playing on the computer.

Here he is sitting in our holiday boxes, he colored on our family pictures, and trying to take a shower.

Elfie turned our milk pink, ate our M & M's, climbed in a tree and drank our syrup.

Elfie rode on Logan's toy dinosaur and poured flour on the floor to make a "snow angel".

And on the last night Elfie painted the kids noses red. This was my favorite. I could not stop laughing!
Logan got so excited each morning to find what silly thing Elfie was doing. I know next year will be even more fun.
