5

Logan turned 5 on Thursday.  I cannot believe my little guy is 5.  He had been so excited for this day for so long.
To start of his morning he went out and played in the snow.  First they played in the front yard and then went and jumped on the trampoline.  That was one of my favorite things to do in the snow when I was younger.

After that we went to Chuck E. Cheese.  We decided not to do a big party this year because he had a big party last year and the year before.  So we invited people to just come and hang out.  He had so much fun playing games.

He really wanted Star Wars cupcakes.

We were so happy that Lincoln could come.

And Annie!

We always love when Daddy doesn't have work.

Brooklyn was there, but this is the only picture I got of her.

After Chuck E. Cheese we went home and Logan opened his presents.

Then we headed to Provo for the BYU basketball game.  We had a lot of fun and Logan even got a birthday hug from Cosmo!  Logan loves Cosmo and even wants to be him for Halloween next year.

We were so glad Lincoln spent the day with us.  Logan really looks up to him.

Logan is such an amazing kid.  He is the funniest, kindest, smartest kid I have ever known.  He is always so willing to help others and is the best big brother Brooklyn could ever have.  He is always looking out for her and helping her learn.  This kid has such a great sense of humor and comes up with the best one liners.  He has a way of making anyone happy just by being around.  If someone is sad it makes him sad.  He has the best memory and I think he will do great things in his life because of it.  I really am not sure how we got so lucky to have such an amazing boy.  We are so grateful to have him in our lives and love him so much!

Christmas

Christmas morning was so much fun.  I didn't take very many pictures because I was doing the video camera.

Our tree before the kids came out.

Big stuffed animals next to the kid's stockings.

Brooklyn got a kitchen.  She didn't even want to open presents after she saw it.  We had to force her to open her presents.  And after each present she went back to the kitchen.  She loves it!

Logan's big gift was a "kid Ipad" (an Innotab).  He likes it, but still not as much as a real Ipad.

He also got the bow and arrow he asked for.  He was so excited!

I didn't take any other pictures the rest of the day.  We went to my parents house for breakfast and to open gifts.  Everyone was so generous!  Then we headed over to the Quinney's for lunch and more gifts.  Again, it was so much fun and everyone was very generous.  After the Quinney's my dad watched our kids while we went to Les Miserables with the rest of my family.  It was amazing and I am so glad I got to see it with all of the siblings and my mom.  It was a great end to the great Christmas day we had!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve morning was so relaxing.  David and Logan delivered neighbor gifts while Brooklyn and I wrapped last minute gifts.  When they got home we made and decorated cookies to leave out for Santa.

After our relaxing morning we went to my Grandparents house for the annual Christmas Eve party.  As usual it was so much fun.

The kids got to see Santa.  Logan told him he wanted a bow and arrow.

We were all surprised when Brooklyn sat on his lap and didn't even cry!

Logan performed Once there was a Snowman in the talent show and also whistled Jingle Bells.  He did such a great job.  He has been practicing his whistling all year.

Brooklyn sang Jingle Bells.  We were supposed to bring some bells for her to ring, but forgot.

Annual stair picture.

And of course the Nativity.  This year we had 5 wisemen.  Logan really wanted to be a wiseman in the Quinney family Nativity, but wasn't so he was so excited to be one in my family.

We also did the 12 days of Christmas and opened presents.  Everyone was so generous.  Christmas Eve is my favorite party of the whole year!

Quinney Christmas Eve

This year we decided to do our Christmas Eve with the Quinney's a little bit different.  We decided to do "Christmas Eve" the Saturday before.  It was so great not having to rush through dinner to get other places.
We started out at Red Lobster.  Logan and Braden were silly the whole time.

Then we went back to our house and the kids did a fun Christmas tree craft.  After that the kids did the nativity.  We have been wanting to do this for a while, but every year is so chaotic.

Logan was a shephard and Brooklyn was his lamb.

All of the kids.

Then we opened stockings from David's parents and the kids ran around playing.  It was so great being able to spend the whole evening together and not stress about getting other places.  I am so glad this is going to be the new tradition.

December 2012

We have a very busy month.  The month started out with all of us getting sick at one point or another.  Hopefully we are all on the mend now.  We didn't let sickness get in our way of doing fun
things though.
We went to Gardner Village with Ashley and Jett.  It was a great day to go because it wasn't freezing.  We found all of the elves and the kids got a cookie.

Brooklyn was not happy we were kissing her under the mistletoe.

We also did the Christmas "Cruise" down the Provo River.  We really like the Halloween one and have been wanting to try the Christmas one.  It was lame and we won't do it again.

Logan wasn't feeling well and this is how we found him soon after we left the boat ride.  Hilary's scarf and all!

Brooklyn was just tired.

We also made graham cracker houses.  This is my attempt at building a house for Brooklyn.  I don't know what my problem is, but apparently I cannot build with frosting.  Maybe next year I will have to use a glue gun.

David built Logan's.  It turned out MUCH better!

He had so much fun decorating with candy.

We had a fun reindeer breakfast!

We did so many fun things this Christmas.  It was exhausting, but so much fun!

Zoo Lights

One of our favorite holiday traditions is going to Zoo Lights.  Last year was our first year and we had so much fun we decided it needed to become a tradition.  This year we went on opening night and it was PACKED!!  Not only was it opening night, but it also wasn't freezing.  That made for some crowds.  Once we found parking and got inside the gates it wasn't too bad.

Brooklyn loved her new hats and gloves.

We were so glad Lincoln came with us.  We were also happy Hilary, Leslie, Mark, Ashley, and Jett could come.  Unfortunately, David was sick.  Hopefully he can come next year.
The boys really liked this crocodile light!

This popcorn was almost as big as Brooklyn!

It was such a fun night and a great way to kick of the holiday season!
