Bees Game

We have been wanting to go to a Bees game all summer. My sister-in-law was a Honey Bee for them last year, but we weren't able to go to any of the games because we were working on our house. So we wanted to make it a priority to go this year. We made it to one of the last home games of the season. It was so much fun. Ashley brought Jensen, and Hilary and my parents came. We had great seats and great company!

Logan watching the game.

We were only 10 rows up from homeplate.

This is Brooklyn's scrunchy nose smile. Logan was this exaxt same age when he started doing this face. I LOVE it!

First Day of Preschool!

Today was Logan's first day of preschool. He has been looking forward to this day for a long time. My sister Emily is a preschool teacher and he would get to go to her class every once in a while, but he couldn't wait til it was his turn to be in preschool. We bought him a new Cars backpack about a month ago, got him a new first day of school outfit, a treat for his classmates, and he was ready to go. We had a meet the teachers open house on Monday and he didn't want me to stay, so today when I dropped him off he went right in and did great. I got a little teary as I sent him off. I can't believe he is already in preschool!

I saw this on Pinterest and had to do it. Such a cute idea!

Woo Hoo!!

This guy is FINALLY potty trained. I would dare say Logan is one of the most stubborn kids I have ever met. We have been trying this potty training business for a while and every time we would ask him if he wants to go he would simply say, "No." Now I am the kind of person that truly believes a child will potty train when they are ready, but I was starting to get very frusterated. I know he is a smart boy and he wouldn't potty train because he wanted control. We kept telling him we would take him to Planet Play when he was potty trained. He didn't care. We told him he couldn't go to preschool til he was potty trained. He didn't care. Finally, one day he had a friend over (this friend is 8) and Logan was so embarrassed he needed his diaper changed. That night he said he wanted to go potty on the toilet and the next day he decided he wanted to wear underwear, and has only had 1 accident since. We knew he would do it when HE wanted to and I am just grateful I am only changing one child a day now. I am also grateful that when he decided he was ready he trained himself and I am not changing accident clothes all the time!

Island Park/Yellowstone

For Christmas this last year my grandparents gave us a trip to Island Park and Yellowstone. It was a lot of fun. David couldn't come because of work so we missed him like crazy, but it was fun riding with my parents and Hilary.

Some highlights from the trip were:

-Brooklyn eating beef jerky and absolutely LOVING it!
-Logan (very newly potty trained) not having a single accident on the way there, while there, or on the way home.
-Logan kissing and playing with a frog.
-Running in the mountains.
-After all of the kids hit a pinata my mom brought, my dad went to hit it (not very hard) and it broke in half. Logan went around chanting, "We love candy, we love candy!"
-Watching Logan on the horse.
-Me horseback riding.
-Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Thank you so much Mike and Kate!!
-All of the tacky souvenir shops. Seriously West Yellowstone has maybe the most tacky souvenir shops EVER!
-My cousin Jenna's horse was named Rat and had a hard time going over logs. Every time a log would come up she would say, "Its ok Rat. You are doing so good Rat." It just sounded so awkward!

It was great trip. Thank you so much Grandpa and Grandma for all you do for us!!

Brooklyn eating beef jerky. This girl loves everything except baby food!
Hanging out in West Yellowstone. She was so happy to be sitting in the stroller so much.

One of the waterfalls in Yellowstone.

Another waterfall.

Logan really wanted to take pictures the whole time. Most didn't turn out very good but some were cute. This is one I took of him taking them of us. Cute kid!
My parents took my kids for me while I went horseback riding. Probably my favorite part of the trip.
Logan was way into these goats at the horseback riding place. He was so excited when the guy told him he could pet him.
On the horse. His name was Scooter.
Logan said his favorite part of the trip was riding the horse too. His horses name was Skip. He looks so tiny on the horse. He only rode around the corral. It was so cute and he loved it!
At one of the waterfalls there was a gift shop with this bear. Logan wanted to see a live bear so bad, but this is the best we got.
Also, thank you so much to my mom and dad for letting me and the kids ride with you. It was nice to not have to drive 5 hours by myself.

6 Months

I cannot believe Brooklyn is already 6 months old. I feel like time goes twice as fast now that I have two kids.

Brooklyn's stats are:

Height: 24 1/4 in.-- 3%
Weight: 14 lbs. 8 oz.-- 20%
Head Circumference: 42%

Her stats are kind of all over the place. At 6 months Brooklyn:

-Hates eating baby food.
-Loves pickles!
-For the last month has just wanted Mommy. Cries a lot when she can't see me. Within the last week it hasn't been as bad so I am hoping this phase is on its way out.
-Loves to take showers and swim.
-Loves her big brother so much. He can almost always get a smile out of her.
-Has had some rough times sleeping through the night. Logan did this at this age too. I think its because she is teething.
-Loves playing with toys.
-Sits up on her own.
-Loves to spit.
-Her spitting up has slowed down which is awesome!
-Kicks so much when she is on her stomach is scoots her all over.
-Started sleeping in her crib just last night.
-Although a little more demanding is still such a good baby and such a joy!

Busy Summer

We have had such a busy summer. Last summer wasn't the greatest with me being pregnant, nannying, and working on our house all summer so my goal has been to make this summer awesome! We have been having so much fun. Here is some of our summer so far in pictures.

Ignore the poor quality of most of my pictures. My camera is really terrible.
Brooklyn tried cereal for the first time...and hated it. In fact she still hates it a month later. We have tried several vegetables and fruits with it and she still cries when we try to give it to her and spits it out of her mouth.

Logan took swimming lessons with my cute cousin. He is not quite swimming but is a lot more brave.
More swim lessons.
I asked Logan to change Brooklyn's diaper one morning expecting him to say no. He said he wanted to so I let him. Possibly one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I was crying I was laughing so hard. It was even a poopy diaper.
We have gone to Seven Peaks several times. Luckily, this is how Brooklyn spent most of her time. She is very much a mama's girl lately and will scream hysterically if I am not holding her.
Logan and Lincoln at Seven Peaks.
He is getting so brave in the water. Maybe by the end of the summer he will even go down the big slides with us.
We went to the Sandy Fair. This little lady was an angel in the stroller the whole time.
Logan had lots of fun at the fair. He got to do crafts, go on a firetruck, and get SWAG.
Logan insisted I take his picture. I am pretty sure we have this exact same picture from last year.
My kiddos in their Red, White, and Blue. Of course I couldn't get a good picture of the both of them.

I can't believe summer is already half way over. We still have lots more to do though including a vacation to Island Park with all of my dads family.

Backyard Campout

One thing David has been looking forward to since we found out we were having a boy was be able to do campouts with him. When we first started looking at out house one of the best things about it was the huge yard. Since David didn't have work this weekend we decided to take advantage of our awesome yard and do a campout. Logan was so excited about it and talked about it all day. While him and David were setting up the tent he was talking so fast and so much about all the things they were going to do.

First we had a fire to roast marshmallows. My parents got us this firepit for Christmas and we have definitely been getting use of it.

Next was reading stories in the tent. Logan loved that he got to sleep in a sleeping bag. After stories, Brooklyn and I went and slept inside and the boys read a few more books.
They slept out there all night. I thought for sure they would have ended up inside at some point in the night. Logan even out slept David. After he woke up he asked if we could do it again. Lucky for him there is a big cousin sleepover at my grandparents house tonight. He can't wait to sleep in the tent again!

Summer!!

We had such a fun day on Friday. Unfortunately, I only have pictures of one of our activities. In February we bought the Pass of all Passes for Seven Peaks. We went for the first time on Friday with my sister Hilary, brother Mark, his wife Ashley, and the kids she nannies. It was so much fun and Logan loved playing with Jensen. Since we have season passes we could go for only a couple of hours and know that we will still get our moneys worth. Later that night we decided to go to the drive in . We saw Mr. Poppers Penguins. Logan LOVES penguins and loved this movie. The kids were laughing so much in the "trunk" of the Tahoe. Brooklyn was an angel and the weather was great. It was such a fun day. We can't wait for more summer fun!

Brooklyn turned 5 months and I forgot to take her picture til she was in jammies.

Logan called this the trunk. He loves playing with Jensen and Paisley.
Thanks Ash for planning these fun activities!!

The Swingset

When we first bought our house I knew I wanted to get a swingset for Logan. Since we moved into our house in October we decided to wait until spring. I looked around a lot for a swingset that I thought would be fun. Finally at the end of March we bought one. It came at the beginning of April and I couldn't wait for David to set it up. He decided to take a few days off work to do it. Unfortunately, it rained all 3 days he took off. From then on it seemed most of his days off were rainy. Finally he started setting it up last Thursday and finished it on Monday. It looks so great and Logan LOVES it!! This took David about 15 hours to put together. The instructions were ridiculous, some of the wood was not labeled correctly, there were too many of one thing and not enough of another. He is so amazing for being so great to do this for our kids. What an amazing husband I have!

This is about half of the wood before he started.

Another stage of the building.

And some more...

Getting close to being done with the tower.
And the finished product. Logan stands there and asks what you want to buy then pretends to make it. I am so excited to have this for Logan to play with all summer. It will definitely be nice to have some fun things to play with in our own backyard.

4 Months

I cannot believe my little girl is four months already! We had her Dr. appointment today and here are her stats:

Height: 23 1/4 inches- 8%
Weight: 12 lbs. 14 oz.- 22%
Head Circumference: 50%

Some things about Brooklyn at 4 months:
-Is so smiley. We can pretty much always get a smile out of her.
-Still sleeps through the night.
-Can roll from front to back.
-Is starting to teeth and is always putting her hands in her mouth and drooling like crazy!
-Ate watermelon for the first time and did not like it.
-I missed this one, but David got her really laughing by tickling her.
-Loves her big brother so much.
-Is really starting to play with toys.
-Loves to be outside. If only the weather would cooperate with this one.
-Hates to have a wet or stinky diaper.

We love our little Brooklyn and couldn't imagine our family without her.
