Logan is a very active little boy, so once 18 months hit we were surprised he hadn't tried to climb out of his crib yet. He liked to climb in, but never tried to climb out that we know of. At 2 I thought wow maybe we are just going to dodge a bullet and he won't ever try to climb out. Once he is just a little older we will get him a toddler bed and not have to worry about him falling out and getting hurt. Well on Tuesday David had the day off work. He put Logan in bed and he cried because he wanted to play with his daddy. After about 5 minutes we didn't hear crying anymore but then heard a door upstairs opening. We both looked at each other and thought it was weird and went up and checked. Sure enough Logan was standing there looking at us. We put him back in his bed and told him to climb out and he did it with ease like he had been doing it for months! We could not stop laughing. Naps for the past few days have been rough. He climbs out and in and out and in and opens the door. Hopefully the novelty of this will wear off soon for him. In the meantime we will start looking even more for a toddler bed.

Sigh... good luck with it all. I can't believe these kids keep growing up.
When we first put up a toddler bed for Leah I was totally fine with it. The she went and sat on it. She brought some books and started reading to her dolls on her bed. That's when I lost it a little. I'm not a cry-er but seeing that little body on that big bed just did me in.
Just last week they had some toddler beds on kids woot. Toy Story or Diego. He learned four days too slow!
Les, I told her about them but she didn't want to redo his room...
Thats funny. I am not looking forward to Gavin climbing out. We aren't getting a toddler bed until he starts doing the same thing. Hopefully it will be a while.
That is so funny he just seems so small to be doing that lol. Thats one good thing about Abby being so short cuz she can't climb in or out but I'm sure that day will come. Yeah we have been sick this week too so maybe we should shoot for next week? Can't wait!
Sneaky, sneaky. I can't believe he stayed in his bed for this long, atleast without you knowing about it. Nap times are over with, little cuz. :) You have a wonderful son. Enjoy him cause they grow up too fast. Don't forget to check out Craigslist.
We were extremely lucky when Ben started climbing out of his crib, and found a twin size bed frame on clearance at Walmart for half off. We got the twin mattress at DI (they make brand new ones) for a good deal, and it's good quality too. Good luck, this is a new stage, but it's fun to see them grow up!
