Aviary

A couple of weeks ago we decided to use our Pass of all Passes and go to the Tracy Aviary.  I wasn't too excited about going because David and I were leaving for St. George a couple of days later and I had a lot to get done.  I am so glad we went.  Both kids loved looking at all of  different kind of birds.  Logan even got to feed the pelicans and some amazon birds!

Brooklyn did so great in the stroller.  She loved looking at all of the birds.

My favorite was definitely the peacocks.  They were just roaming around right in front of us, and then they would jump on trees and buildings.

These birds were bright orange.  I wish the pictures portrayed how bright they really were.

I don't think they were supposed to, but the kids got close enough to the peacock to touch its feathers.

Brooklyn by a goose.

SOCCER!!

Logan finally started his soccer season.  We signed him up in February and he has been so excited to finally start.  We went to his organization day last Saturday and they did a little practice.  He pretty much thought it was the greatest thing ever.  Finally on Tuesday he had his first game.  The kids all voted on a team name.  They are the Tigers.  Logan had so much fun, and we all had so much fun watching him and all of the other kids.  Unfortunately, David and I were out of town so we missed his second game, but he told us it was so much fun.  We can't wait for each game to watch him play and progress!

Lined up ready and getting ready to play.  Believe it or not he is not even the smallest on his team!

In the middle of the action.  We aren't sure why, but he makes this silly face while he is chasing after the ball.

He would get so thirsty while he was playing.  He kept trying to run off the field to get water.  Something to work on!

So happy after his first game.  Hilary and Layne even made a sign for him that said "Go Logan Go!"  He for sure had the biggest fan section!  Lucky boy was even in charge of treats for the first game!  We are loving soccer and can't wait for his next game!

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday was great. We had church first thing in the morning and David spoke. He did such a great job. I am married to an amazing man. I am so grateful that each Easter we get to be at church to remind us why we truly celebrate. The Atonement. I am also so grateful that Logan knows Easter is fun, but we celebrate because of our Savior.
After church we had the Quinney family over for a little Easter egg hunt and dinner. Logan and I had fun putting candy in the eggs, and that he got to celebrate with his cousins. When dinner was over me and the kids went to my grandparents house (David stayed at our house with his family) for our big Easter celebrations! It started out with the Easter Egg hunt. This has always been one of my favorite things and it is so great watching my kids get to experience it. Logan did great and found all of his eggs and then more in the free for all. Each egg has candy and money in it and Logan ended up finding $8.75. Brooklyn had so much fun hunting for eggs as well. She ended up with $5.45.
Once the egg hunt was over we did the annual egg drop. I asked Logan what he wanted to do with his egg and he said he wanted to wrap it with yarn. So that is what we did. He was having so much fun he kept running his egg back to get thrown again and again. I think it got thrown twice as much as anyone else, and it broke. But he loved it and I loved watching him have so much fun. It was a great night and I am so glad my grandparents were in town for all of the Easter festivities!

This is pretty much the only picture I could get of both of them smiling. Brooklyn is not to fond of posing for pictures these days.
I love Logan in this picture!
Looking for eggs!
And Brooklyn...

What a handsome boy he is!
Running his egg drop entry back to be thrown again.

All three of their eggs broke. Bummer!

Easter Saturday

Every year the Easter Bunny comes to our house on Saturday. This year was no exception, and the Easter Bunny did not dissapoint. Both Logan and Brooklyn got a new swimsuit, sandals, a kite, a new book, The Muppet Movie, and bean bag toss game, and a little bit of candy. Logan could not believe we finally had the Muppet Movie for our very own house! It is his favorite movie right now.
The Easter buckets.
Logan really wanted these gross fish bone swim trunks. Luckily for him the Easter Bunny loves him. He also starts soccer next week so he got a book called My First Soccer Game. We can't wait!
Brooklyn got the cutest new swimsuit. It has black and yellow stripes and bee wings on the back.
Saturday afternoon we always go bowling with my extended family. We love this tradition. It was so great to have my grandparents here for Easter and all of the great traditions we have. Brooklyn really wanted to pick the balls up.

Logan has always loved bowling and has gotten so much stronger since the last time we went. He didn't need a ramp at all and did really well.

We had such a great Easter Saturday. Easter Sunday will be posted soon.

Loganisms

Logan has always been a very funny boy, and lately he has been saying really funny/adult sounding things.

-"How peculiar. The lephrechaun put tape on his footprints."
-Logan-"Hilary, will you take this chair up to our clubhouse?"
Hilary-"No it's too big."
Logan-"Then how in carnation did I get it down from there?"
-"Hilary do you want to come over and play at the Quinney house?"
-Logan-"Mom can I play with play-doh?
Me-"No, wait til Leslie and Hilary come over."
Logan-"Well when will they be arriving?"
-"I really want to go watch some television."
-His favorite movie right now is Little Rascals and while he was watching it he said, "Mom, Darla sure looks cute in that dress."
The next day he was watching it again and he came and told me, "Actually Mom, Darla looks cute in everything she wears."
-I told Logan we had to leave soon so he turned his movie off. I told him we still had about ten minutes and he could keep watching and he said, "I would be honored to keep watching my show!"
The next one was mean, but also funny.
-(while on the phone with Emily)Logan-"When is Friday?"
Emily-"In 4 days."
Me-"Actually its only 3 days."
Logan-"No its not Mom. Its in 4 days.
Me-"No its only 3."
Logan to Emily-"Sorry about my mom she is just being obnoxious about this."
We just keep wondering where our 4 year old boy is. He talks like such an adult and keeps us laughing all the time. I couldn't imagine my life without this boy!

St. Patrick's Day

We had a great St. Patrick's Day this year. It all started Friday night. The Lephrechaun came to our house around 11:00. Well Logan woke up shortly after that. He came out, looked at the floor, and said, "What the heck!! The Lephrechaun already came." Oops... He will have to be more careful next year.

The Lephrechaun left Logan and Brooklyn lots of yummy treats. He even turned our bread green...

...and our milk. Logan knew right away in the morning to check to see if our milk was green. He was sure excited when it was.

We had green shamrock waffles (courtesy of my mom for letting me use her heart waffle iron).
That silly and mischievous Lephrechaun put footprints all over the house and the kids bedroom. He even opened all of their drawers. When Logan woke up he said, "That's peculiar, the lephrechaun put tape on his footprint." I guess he didn't want to feet to end up everywhere.
I could not get a good picture of these two together. Brooklyn wanted nothing to do with standing still. She only wanted to play with the camera. Logan was a great sport, Brooklyn just cried.

Got an ok one of Logan. At least he was happy and willing to pose.

And because of her great brother playing Peek-a-boo we finally got a great picture of her.

Logan loved going around and pinching family members that weren't wearing green. He still keeps talking about this day!

Disney on Ice

On Wednesday we took Logan on a date to Disney on Ice. We had been looking forward to this for 6 weeks and couldn't believe it was finally here. We were supposed to go to Olive Garden for dinner, but because of time went to Rumbi instead.

Logan is so excited to finally see Toy Story 3 on ice!!

Logan watching the show. For pretty much the whole show he sat and watched and was so excited. He started to fall asleep at the end so we went and bought him a snow cone and he stayed awake for the whole thing.

Some of the cast. It was so awesome to watch the bigger characters skating. Like Slinky Dog, Hamm, and Lotso.
Little Green Aliens.
Logan and Daddy.
We had so much fun on our date. We will definitely be going to Disney on Ice again!

Valentine Party

For most of the major holidays a lady in our neighborhood has a party for all of the young kids in the neighborhood. We were able to go to the Halloween party and yesterday we went to the Valentines Day party. It's so much fun to get together with the ladies in the ward and let the kids do fun activities and play.

First, the decorated Valentine bags.

Logan's finished bag.

Next, they decorated cookies. Of course Logan chose red frosting.

They played BINGO...several times.

And then they delivered their Valentines into the bags they decorated.

Brooklyn was there too, but she wouldn't stand still long enough for me to take a good picture. She just kept roaming around, trying to find candy and poke the other babies. Oh and she liked taking their toys too. We had 7 girls born into our ward last year. They will all be in the same grade, but Brooklyn is about 5 months older than the next one born. So she just kept poking all of the littler babies and trying to get in their carseats. We absolutely love our ward and can't wait til the next holiday party!

Saturday Afternoon

This is how we spent our Saturday afternoon. Watching Hercules in a fort in the kids room.

We all watched the movie, ate popcorn, and took naps.

My mom made Logan an awesome fort kit for Christmas. We decided to use it on Saturday and it was so much fun. We will definitely be making more forts and using more of the stuff in the kit!

ONE

I cannot believe my baby girl is 1!! This past year has gone by amazingly fast. She is such a joy to have in our family.

The changes in the first year are absolutely amazing. Some things about Brooklyn at 1:
-She says mama, dada, grandma, grandpa, cracker, sticks her tongue out to say Hil, Leslie, Emily, and Ashley. Pretty much any name that has an L in it.
-She signs more, all done, please, thank you, fish, and milk
-She sleeps pretty good most of the time.
-Has been walking pretty well for a couple weeks now. She took her first steps before Thanksgiving and I can't really pin point a day when she really really started walking.
-She has 6 teeth. 3 on top and 3 on bottom.
-She loves to look at books.
-She hates baby food and will pretty much only eat the food we are eating.
-She absolutely loves to be in water!
-For some reason she loves to carry around clothes.
-She puts her hand up to her ear and pretends like she is on the phone.
-Whenever she sees any animal she says "woo woo woo", like she is barking.
-She nods and shakes her head correctly when she is asked a yes or no question.

1 year stats
Weight: 17 lbs-10%
Height: 27 1/4 in.-3%

Our little Brookie Bean has so much personality and we couldn't imagine her any other way!
