Easter Sunday

Easter morning was nice and relaxing.  Since the Easter Bunny came on Saturday morning we could
just relax and enjoy our morning.  After church we started working on our egg drop for Grandma and Grandpa's house.  We thought for sure we had a winner.  After Brooklyn's nap we headed over to the Grandparents for the Easter festivities.

Logan and Brooklyn in their Easter clothes.  Logan was showing me the flowers he picked.

Cute cousins in their matching pink and blue.

After dinner was the egg hunt.  All of the kids love this so much.  Logan got over $8.00.  I think he had the most out of all of the cousins.  Brooklyn had around $6.00.

She loved finding eggs and shaking them.

Logan with his egg drop.  We cut open a pillow and stuck the egg inside then taped it.  We thought for sure it would last, but it didn't.  Next year for sure!

I love Easter.  I love the reason for the holiday and I love all of the traditions that I enjoyed growing up and now my kids get to enjoy them.

Easter Saturday

Even though Easter was a month and a half ago I still feel the need to blog about it.  We had a great Easter with all of our great traditions.
On Friday night we dyed Easter Eggs.  This year we decided to use KoolAid instead of dye and it worked out so well, that we will do that every year.  Logan especially liked dying eggs this year.
Dying Eggs.

Our finished eggs.  I felt like the colors were way better than with store bought dyes and smelly vinegar.

Saturday morning we woke up and found that the Easter Bunny had come.  Both kids got a swim suit, sandals, kites, a book, candy, movies, and some other little things.

Brooklyn needed to put her new swimsuit and slippers on right away.

After a relaxing morning we went bowling.  My grandparents just joined a country club and rented out the bowling alley.  It was awesome.  It looked like it was straight from the 60's.

Brooklyn loved running around the whole place.  It was great not having other people to worry about.

We even had to keep our own score.

Logan loves bowling and is actually starting to get to the point where he doesn't need the ramp.

Brooklyn also loves bowling.

It was so much fun.  I hope this bowling alley becomes our new tradition.

St. Patrick's Day

A couple of days before St. Patrick's Day, Logan's preschool was having a St. Patrick's Day party.  He has been talking about catching the Leprechaun for a month.  He has been so excited and could hardly wait for school that morning.  He was telling me that his tummy hurt because he was so excited.  Well about five minutes from the school he threw up in the car.  We turned around and went home and I felt so sad for him that he was missing such a fun party that he had been so excited for.  I told him our Leprechaun would make the actual day very special.

On Saturday night we made our Leprechaun trap.  The kids found little food/candy type things to put in the trap to lure the Leprechaun.

Our finished trap with the goodies.

I sure love these two!

The Leprechaun sure brought a lot of green and gold treats!

Cute rainbow streamers.  We had to leave this up for two days because the kids loved it so much!

That night Leslie and Emily did a scavenger hunt for the kids to find the pot of gold.

Not sure why this picture is out of order, but he also turned our milk green.

The leprechaun left us gold candy.  Unfortunately, we didn't catch him.

I think the Leprechaun made up for Logan missing his party.  Both kids had so much fun!

I want to write this for memories sake.  Logan was told by my sister that my little brother Mark is a leprechaun.  Tonight he said to her, "I think it is weird that Leprechauns don't live with other Leprechauns."  She said, "Well I think they do." and Logan said, "No Mark lives with Ashley."  I love that he thinks this and is too nervous to even ask Mark about it.  I hope that magic lasts a long time!

Dinosaur Museum

At the beginning of February Logan and Lincoln were off track so we went to the dinosaur museum and Thanksgiving point.  It was my first time there and the kids had so much fun.

They had a lot of fun with this dinosaur.  You could put different arms, legs, and spikes on it in different places.

Logan liked playing in this watery sand.

Brooklyn would not go anywhere near this shark.  She was scared of a lot of the different things they had there.

Looking at the waterfall.

How much do you weigh compared to a dinosaur?

We had a lot of fun.  Thank you Emily for always thinking of fun things for us to do while off track.  We can't wait for spring to go back and do some of the other things they have at Thanksgiving point.

Two!

Brooklyn turned 2 last Thursday.  I cannot believe she is already two!  She has been so excited to tell people she is two, but on her birthday she kept telling us she was 5 like Logan.  When she woke up on her birthday her presents were wrapped and waiting on the couch for her, but David wasn't awake yet so I told her she had to wait.  She could hardly stand the waiting.  She kept walking over and trying to sneak opening one.  Then she would try to go in and wake David up.  She was so excited!

She loves opening presents.  She would tear a teeny piece of wrapping paper off and hand every single one to David for him to throw away.

Logan had a dentist appointment that morning that David took him to so Brooklyn and I just hung out at home for a bit.  She loved playing with her new toys.  After they got home Brooklyn chose Mcdonalds for her birthday lunch.  After lunch we went home and she took a nap and then later that night we went to my parents and had donuts.  She had so much fun on her birthday and I seriously can't believe she is two!

We went to the Dr. today and her stats are:
Weight: 23 lbs.- 21%
Height: 32 in.- 6%

Some things about Brooklyn at 2 are:
-She still has her curly curly hair.  I love it so much and I hope she always has it.
-She says 6-7 word sentences and can definitely let us know what she wants.
-She is still a Diva, but has calmed down quite a bit.  Not nearly as much screaming as she used to.
-She is very small.  He 6 month old cousin only weighs 2 pounds less than her.
-She absolutely loves dolls.  She loves to feed them and change their diapers.  She also really loves real babies.  I really think she will be a great big sister...someday.
-She loves Logan a lot.  Every time he is at school she can't wait til we go pick him up.  But she also picks on him like crazy.
-She is starting to get better about actually eating.  Its been really nice having her actually try things instead of just refusing to eat.
-She wears the same size diapers as her 6 month old cousin which is size 3.
-She loves candy.
-She really likes to dance and will often have me get up and dance with her.
-She loves clothes and shoes.
-Her favorite color is pink.
- She loves to sing I am a Child of God, Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam, Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes, and Do as I'm doing.  She really loves to sing anything, but those are the ones that she will just all of a sudden start singing on her own.

She has been so much fun lately.  I love mornings where its just the two of us and we can play and talk and just have fun together.

Elf on the Shelf

We love having our elf, Elfie, here for the holidays.  Logan was really worried that he was going to forget to come to our house this year.  David assured him that when our Christmas tree was up, he would come.  And he did.  Logan was way into Elfie this year.  The very first thing he did each morning was find where Elfie was hiding and what he was doing.

1. Toilet papered the Christmas tree.
2. Hung on the front door.
3. Played Atari.
4. Brought some presents for the kids.

1. Climbed in the bowl of Halloween candy.  All of that candy ended up finally getting thrown away after the new year.
2. Climbed in a stocking.
3. Played with the kids light toys from Zoo Lights.
4. Roasted marshmallows.

1 and 2. Drew on our family pictures.
3. Spelled Be Good in M & M's.
4. Hiding in a box.

1. Played a game with stuffed animals.
2.  Hanging out in the bathroom.
3. Brought me my stars for my Willow Tree Nativity.  I wanted them really really bad and was totally surprised.
4. Playing with Logan's new Hot Wheels track.

1. Eating some Christmas candy.
2.  Just hanging out on a shelf.
3. Turned the milk pink and green.
4. Hanging out in the tree.

1. Hanging from the light.
2. Brought the kids a little gift.
3. Changing Brooklyn's baby's diaper.
4.  Trying to slide down the railing.

1, 2, and 3.  Painted the kids noses.
4.  Reading a Christmas book.

Logan already can't wait for him to come back next year.  He left a little note for the kids right next to the plate of Santa's cookies.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture, but he did say he was excited to be back next year.

5

Logan turned 5 on Thursday.  I cannot believe my little guy is 5.  He had been so excited for this day for so long.
To start of his morning he went out and played in the snow.  First they played in the front yard and then went and jumped on the trampoline.  That was one of my favorite things to do in the snow when I was younger.

After that we went to Chuck E. Cheese.  We decided not to do a big party this year because he had a big party last year and the year before.  So we invited people to just come and hang out.  He had so much fun playing games.

He really wanted Star Wars cupcakes.

We were so happy that Lincoln could come.

And Annie!

We always love when Daddy doesn't have work.

Brooklyn was there, but this is the only picture I got of her.

After Chuck E. Cheese we went home and Logan opened his presents.

Then we headed to Provo for the BYU basketball game.  We had a lot of fun and Logan even got a birthday hug from Cosmo!  Logan loves Cosmo and even wants to be him for Halloween next year.

We were so glad Lincoln spent the day with us.  Logan really looks up to him.

Logan is such an amazing kid.  He is the funniest, kindest, smartest kid I have ever known.  He is always so willing to help others and is the best big brother Brooklyn could ever have.  He is always looking out for her and helping her learn.  This kid has such a great sense of humor and comes up with the best one liners.  He has a way of making anyone happy just by being around.  If someone is sad it makes him sad.  He has the best memory and I think he will do great things in his life because of it.  I really am not sure how we got so lucky to have such an amazing boy.  We are so grateful to have him in our lives and love him so much!

Christmas

Christmas morning was so much fun.  I didn't take very many pictures because I was doing the video camera.

Our tree before the kids came out.

Big stuffed animals next to the kid's stockings.

Brooklyn got a kitchen.  She didn't even want to open presents after she saw it.  We had to force her to open her presents.  And after each present she went back to the kitchen.  She loves it!

Logan's big gift was a "kid Ipad" (an Innotab).  He likes it, but still not as much as a real Ipad.

He also got the bow and arrow he asked for.  He was so excited!

I didn't take any other pictures the rest of the day.  We went to my parents house for breakfast and to open gifts.  Everyone was so generous!  Then we headed over to the Quinney's for lunch and more gifts.  Again, it was so much fun and everyone was very generous.  After the Quinney's my dad watched our kids while we went to Les Miserables with the rest of my family.  It was amazing and I am so glad I got to see it with all of the siblings and my mom.  It was a great end to the great Christmas day we had!
