Alright once again i am not big on doing this but i haven't posted in while and my family keeps bugging me about not posting. I actually had a lot of fun thinking about all this again though.

Yes. We tried for 11 months. We were talking about going to a Dr. to see if anything was wrong and the next month i was pregnant.

Yes. For 1 1/2 years

I was ecstatic! I ran into the bedroom yelling at David to look at the pregnancy test saying over and over "Does that mean i am pregnant"!!

8. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS?
I was pretty much nauseous non-stop all day for the first few months but i didn't throw up until i was 8 months pregnant. I think it was food poisoning.

9. WHAT DID YOU CRAVE?
For about a month i only wanted to eat salad after that i couldn't even look at salad.

10. WHO/WHAT IRRITATED YOU THE MOST?
I don't want to say who irritated me the most cause i don't want to hurt feelings. If you want to know you can ask and i will tell you.

11. WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST CHILD'S SEX?
A boy

12. DID YOU WISH YOU HAD THE OPPOSITE SEX OF WHAT YOU WERE GETTING?
I thought for sure it was going to be a girl. After the initial shock of finding out it was a boy and for about a week after i was happy it was a boy. And he is perfect!

13. HOW MANY POUNDS DID YOU GAIN THROUGHOUT THE PREGNANCY?
I gained 36 pounds and it was pretty much all water weight. I lost it really fast but am having a really hard time losing the weight i gained before i got pregnant from birth control.

14. DID YOU HAVE A BABY SHOWER?
Yes. My shower was supposed to be the 27 of December but Logan ended up wanting to come that day. We ended up doing the shower when Logan was a month old.

15. WAS IT A SURPRISE OR DID YOU KNOW?
I knew

16. DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY?
Yes. I had really high blood pressure so the last two months i was constantly going to the Dr. to have them check me out and make sure i wasn't getting pre-eclampsia. I ended up on bed rest the last two weeks. I had to go to the hospital twice for it and then the third time they made me stay because it was way too high.


17. WHERE DID YOU GIVE BIRTH?
St. Marks hospital. I loved it. I am really sad that at this point our insurance won't cover there anymore.

18. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR?
27 long hours. The longest and most uncomfortable hours of my life.

19. WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL?
David. My dr told me to go just to get checked out so i halfway packed a bad thinking i wouldn't have to stay. Needless to say we did have to stay so David had to go home to finish packing.

20. WHO WATCHED YOU GIVE BIRTH?
A couple of Dr.'s some nurses and David/

21. WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION?
C-section. It had already been 27 hours and he was still stationed at a -4 and i was only dilated to a 1. So they said we should probably do a c-section or else you could be in labor another 24 hours and still end up with a c-section. He did not want to come out.

22. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN?
I had pain medication for the first 19 hours and then an epidural. It was like heaven when i finally got the epidural.

23. WHO WAS THE FIRST VISITORS TO THE HOSPITAL?
My parents came to have my dad help David give me a blessing and they were there when they decided to do a c-section so they just stayed and David called his parents at that point too. But my parents were officially first.

24. IS THE BABY NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
His middle name is Patrick after David and his Dad.

25. HOW MUCH DID YOUR CHILD WEIGH?
7 lbs. 4 oz.

The hospital is no fun!

As i posted earlier Logan has been sick. This is going to be a long post so just bare with me. So saturday morning our dr office called just to check up on him. It was a nurse and she said she was going to write it all down and tell the on call dr. Well the on call dr called back and said we should consider taking him up to primary childrens if his diaper wasn't wet that morning. Well it was so we didn't worry about it. And he had only had one bad diaper that day, he also hadn't thrown up since thursday at 11:00 am. He still was not eating or drinking unless we forced him though. Well later that night he all of a sudden threw up again. So as were were reading our scriptures that night i said do you think we should call my dad and have him come help give Logan a blessing? We decided to and they came over and we talked again about taking him to the hospital. After my parents left we decided we needed to. I hadn't showered all day because i got a little bit of what Logan had(no throwing up though) and decided to hurry and shower. As i got out Logan all of a sudden started throwing up a lot. That just reiterated that we needed to take him. We figured they would put an iv in him and we would only be there a couple hours. Boy were we wrong.

So we get to Primary Childrens at about 11:30 that night and it was so crowded. It amazes me how many people were there. It was a half an hour wait for them to weigh him and take his temp and then another hour and fifteen minutes to go back to the room. It was then another 30 minutes til anyone came back there. They decided he was dehydrated so they decided to put and iv in. We forgot Logan's binky so we knew it was going to be bad for them to poke him. It was!! He cried for an hour and a half after that. They were giving him fluids and found out his glucose was low so they also had to pump some of that into him. After being there for three hours a resident came in and said we would probably have to stay the night but that an attending would come in and let us know. An hour later the attending came in and said we had to stay and that they would be getting a better room ready for us. by this time it was 4:00 am and they didn't come in to get us for the new room until 5:15. I had not slept at all so i was so ready for the new room.

After a while Logan was doing really well and playing so they said we would be able to leave around 1:00. Well he still didn't want to eat or drink so they said well maybe 3:00 or 4:00. At 3:00 Logan threw up. So they said they didn't know when we could go home. He threw up again at 3:30. It was so sad cause he didn't have much in his stomach because he didn't want anything. So i went home and got more jammies for him and stuff for us in case we had to spend the night again. When i got back David's parents were there and they hung out for a while. After they left we just concentrated on getting logan liquids. Since he was throwing everything up he could only have sip every ten minutes. Which was fine with him cause he did not want the gatorade. However he did want to nurse at times and i could only do it for two minutes and then pull him off. He was so mad. Well then my parents came and hung out for a while and kept him happy. He could not leave the room at all cause he was too contagious. He wanted out so badly!! After a while the dr came in and said since he hadn't thrown up in hours we could go home and also i could give him a full feeding. They said he still might throw up a little and have diarrhea but just try to keep him hydrated. We were so thrilled to go home. However, when we got home Logan threw up twice and had a terrible diaper today. It has been so stressful. Today i have been doing the two minute nursing again cause that is all he will eat or drink and he hates it. Hopefully we can get this kid better soon!

Oh the joys of Parenthood

Yesterday morning i woke up to feed Logan. I fed him and he fell back asleep which is pretty common. I lifted him up and burped him and he spit up. Or so i thought it was spit up. It was a lot which was weird and he really doesn't spit up anymore, which was weird. I cleaned it up and brought him up to my bed with me. Well he woke up about an hour later and David got up with him because it was his day off. About two hours later David brought Logan into our room and told me that he had thrown up about five more times in that short period of time. Yep thats right i said throw up.

Now a lot of you probably know that i am terrified of throwing up. It scares me so bad that i am going to throw up. I know its lame but its true. So when David and I were first dating i told him that i would change all of the poopy diapers if he would clean up all of the throw up. Well i definitely do not change all the poopy diapers and it turns out i don't mind cleaning up my baby's throw up. I for sure thought i wouldn't even want to be by him but it is worth it for me to be able to snuggle my baby. I for sure am still totally scared that i am going to get sick though. Its really sad to see him so sick.

He threw up all day. I would say at least 10 times. We figured he would be fine by morning. When he woke up this morning i went and got him out of bed and there was no throw up so i figured yay he is fine. Not more than a minute later he started dryheaving. It was really sad. We then decided that we needed to call the dr. since it had been more than 24 hours. He threw up probably four more times today and then we went to the dr. Logan is not dehydrated so the dr just gave us a prescription for anti nausea and hopefully it will start working cause Logan has not had anything to eat or pretty much drink for two days.

Also i do have to mention one more thing. I have the coolest grandpa ever. My grandpa worked with Mike Leavitt in Washington DC at Health and Human Services. Well Leavitt had to resign because Bush wasn't president anymore. The new Secretary had not been confirmed by the senate yet so they had to appoint and acting Secretary of HHS. They chose my grandpa. Secret service has to pick him up everyday and they take him to work in a black SUV. And we just found out the other day that he is tenth in line to be the President. Tenth!! I think it is so cool that he is in the presidents cabinet even if it is only until Tom Dashel gets confirmed by the Senate.

Tucanos

Yesterday my sisters invited us to go to Tucanos with them, but David's siblings were coming to our house later that night and we had to many errands to do. So they asked if Logan could still come and of course we jumped at the chance to have the day to ourselves to get things done. So I asked my sister to take pictures. They got some great pictures of Logan trying new things. His favorite things that he tried were fried bananas and steak. He is definitely his fathers child. They said when they tried to take the steak away he started screaming. What a funny kid. It amazes me that he is turning more into a little boy rather than a baby every day! It was so nice to be able to get things done without him though. I also have to post about what happened tonight. We celebrated chinese new year by having chinese food at my parents house for dinner. Logan didn't like the noodles or the rice but he LOVED the egg rolls. How weird. But at least he liked something.

Chuck-e-Cheese

Yesterday we went to my nephews birthday party at Chuck e Cheese. It was a lot of fun. He decided he wanted to have a super hero party so there were super hero cups and plates and table cloth. Also, all the party favors had super heroes on them. When we got there we ordered the pizza and then Layne opened his presents. He got way fun stuff. Then we ate our lunch and watched the little show for a while. Logan was captivated by the singing animals on stage. He just stared at them. It was so cute to see him be excited about it. Then the kids went and played games and we put Logan on some rides. He was terrified. He just screamed the whole time. There was one ride that he really liked. It was a car that barely moved but had two steering wheels. So we sat him in the middle and he played with both. Well on his second time on the ride this little boy came up and pushed logan out of the middle and climbed on. I was about to pull him off til i saw his mom and i assumed she would pull him off, but no. She said is that alright? Like i am going to say no. It amazes me how some parents act. Anyway then we had cake and the kids played some more. It was a fun party.

Logan is finally walking!!

Logan is finally walking!! About a month and a half ago just a couple of days before Thanksgiving Logan took three steps. Then he decided he wouldn't do it again until Christmas eve where he took about five steps. Then on Christmas day he went back and forth a couple times. Well he really hasn't wanted to do it again since then. Until Friday. On Friday he was walking between me and my mom and did it about 3 times. Well tonight he was walking like crazy!! He loved it. He was walking more than crawling. He was even walking next to the couch and trying so hard not to hold on. What a cute boy! This has been a long time coming. He has been so scared to walk, or maybe its just been that he is stubborn. He has been climbing for months on everything but just wouldn't walk. Well we now have a walker on our hands. When he would fall he would try so hard to stand up by himself but couldn't so he would look at me and start to cry til i helped him stand up. For some reason i can't ever figure out how to put videos on my blog so i guess i can't show how wonderfully cute my baby is walking. Someday maybe i will figure it out. But in the meantime i do know how to put pictures on here so here is a picture of him standing by himself.

Making Martians

Yesterday for playdate we made martians. For Christmas Layne got this cool thing where you make little gummy martians. You pick a head and a body and push them into playdough to make a mold of what you want your alien to look like. Then once you make your mold you pour this goop in it and put another saucer of playdough over it and let it sit for five minutes so the goop can set up. Then after it sets you have these gummy(not eating kind of gummy) martians that you play with. It comes with a little planetarium/terrerium type thing that you put them in. It also comes with a flying saucer. It was a fun activity and the kids loved it!!

1 year stats

Yesterday we had Logan's one year Dr appointment. Logan has been sick for about a week now so we asked the Dr. about it and he decided to check his ears. Well it turns out that he has two really bad ear infections. Poor kid. I guess his cold got into his ears and thats how he got the infections. So the Dr. prescribed some amoxycillin and hopefully all with be well in seven days. So at Logan's last appointment three months ago he weighed 17 lbs. 3 oz. and now after three whole months he only weighed 18 lbs. So needless to say the Dr. said he is now off the curve and we have to go back in a month so see if he is gaining weight. We are hoping it is just because he has been sick and really has not been eating very well the past week. He also moves around a lot so maybe he is just burning calories like crazy. Here are his stats

18 lbs- 2 percentile(off the curve)
28 1/2 inches- 11 percentile
Head circumference-50 percentile

I asked the Dr if it was normal that his head was so much more of a percentile than the rest of him and don't worry it is. So hopefully in the next month we can get him gaining some weight. I was starting to only nurse him right when he woke up in the morning and most of the time before bed but have not decided that i should continue to do it a little more so our little guy can be not so little.

Happy Birthday Logan

I cannot believe my little baby turned one today!! It literally feels like i was just in the hospital a couple months ago having him. This has definitely been the fastest year of my life. He is such a wonderful baby. I can't believe that i got so lucky. He is such a happy little guy. Even though he has been sick all week he has been such a trooper. He has still been happy and such a sweet boy. He is a great sleeper most of the time. He takes great naps most of the time. He is a great eater once again most of the time. I am so lucky that i was blessed with such an amazing little boy. It has been such a wonderful past year and i can't wait for the years to come. Today for his birthday we went out to breakfast with my family at Golden Corral. Logan got to try a lot of firsts today. You are not supposed to give babies eggs til they are one so we gave him eggs, chocolate milk, bacon, yogurt, David even made him try corn beef hash. He was not too fond of most of that stuff. After that we went to Walmart and returned a few things from Christmas that he got duplicates of and got him a couple new toys. Then we got home and he opened his presents from David and I. He got a popcorn pusher, a puzzle, some jammies, and a shape sorter. He liked the popcorn pusher best. We decided not to make him a cake today because he had one last week at David's parents house and he will have one tomorrow at my parents house. But it was a great 1st birthday. I can't wait for the many more to come.

Yesterday after the big snow storm David decided it would be fun to take Logan out to play in it. Lets just say Logan absolutely hated it. I guess he takes after me. He cried the whole time. I think once he is a little bit older he will like it better.
